is it a turn off if one has a poor penmanship?

in work, love or life, does having a good penmanship matter? Does it turn you off if you know or see someone who does not have a good one. I know or most of the times I can't read what the doctor would write on my prescriptions, but hey they have Phds and all that so who cares right? LOL.

i dont think that good penmanship is a must. we all have different ways on how to write, and writing is no longer much of a requirement for we use computers already. although when we are in school writing is very important, when you work penmanship does not count anymore due to used of high tech things like laptop of the computer.

i dont think that it doesnt really tell if you are good or bad through penmaship. some of the good people in the world has bad penmanship and there are some bad people who has bad penmanship as well. so it still depends on the personality not with the penmanship. just my opinion.

in todays computer world where handwriting is not much of a necessity as you can print almost anything in a computer (printer) it is not necessary to judge a person on hand writing alone, and i see some handwriting that are not pleasing to see but readable. on the doctor handwriting thingy, i think they do that on purpose as i see some doctors who have a different stroke when not writing a prescription.

on purpose? Hmm, thats interesting. Or maybe that is just because there's this perception that doctors have bad penmanship so they try to be and do so. And i agree that in this technological world, in the computer age, having a bad one is not that bad or that important.

Hi redphile, I think we don't care much if receiving letters from our loved ones written in poor penmanship. What we bother much is the content It's always a great pleasure and excitement to receive letter from our intimate loved one or partner from distance. Might be we find difficulty to read the penmanship initially. I believe the desire to know the content keenly is the main impetus to push us to read the whole description even if it's a poor penmanship. After some time surely we could read the poor penmanship for we are accustomed with it. My husband has a good penmanship whereas mine is quite poor. Anyway I know obviously he had great interest to read letter before our marriage. We lived in distant places that time. After we had married we are no longer having letter interaction any more Happy posting

you do have a very good point. Its not how it is written but its what in it that counts. Like in letters, well i think that as long as its readable then what matters more is the content of the letter and not the penmanship.

Hi. redphile. I think that it is a turn off when a person does not have great penmanship. But, I won't stop liking them if their handwriting sucks though. It is just more easier for me to read their handwriting if it is very legible.

Yeah aND doctors also have a handwriting thats not easily read LOL so I think its okay not really a turn off totally. Maybe its not their fault that they didnt get to practice much writing when they were in school. LOL

I don't care if she has an unreadable handwriting. From what i know, most people with unreadable handwriting are smart. Excluding kindergarten students, that is. Lol.

They say that penmanship signifies a person's personality but I don't really care. I used to have really bad penmanship but then it improved, so I don't really get irked if I see bad penmanship because I used to be like that, too.

it doesnt really matter that much, as long as it is readable i think thats more important. Congrats for having improved your handwriting!

No, it isn't a turn off to me. Then again, my boyfriend has nice handwriting. My handwriting on the other hand, is terrible. I don't know why. As I've gotten older, it's gotten worse. It makes me upset when I look at how my handwriting used to be. I wonder what happened.

or maybe its not poor penmanship, its just that different persons have different styles in writing. There's clear and abstract writing just like in te art of painting.
