hello mylotters.i was just wondering that though laptops have high demand that the desktop computers ,then why the laptops have not yet replaced all the desktop computers.i mean still in big companies the flat screen desktops are used and not laptops.desktops require cpu's which is in built in laptops.and it is not that the cost of laptops is huge.a good laptop is something around 30 to 35 thousands (indian rupees) which is a fair amount that the huge companies can afford.share your views regarding this topic. happy mylotting.

i have a laptop but now, i so want to have a desktop. it's because desktop is faster than laptop though laptop is handy. my laptop is so slow, i think it's because of too much files and that's what i like about desktops, it has a bigger space.

LAPTOP! 100% Laptops are perfectly comparable to desktops in almost everything except gaming. But laptops are so much easier to move, so much easier to setup, and I have a netbook so mine is ultraportable and was only $300. I have only ever owned laptops and have had about 6 in my life. I absolutely would recommend the laptops over desktops.

I think all responses to your topic, so far, are legitimate. I got my first computer about 14 or 15 years ago and have had several since. The one I am using now is a laptop...the only laptop I've ever had even though they've been around for years. I think another answer to your question is that these things take time. Given enough time I think we will eventually see the end of the desktop computer, to an extent. But who knows when that will be? I remember when CD's first came out I thought to myself, "We will eventually see the end to the cassette tape." Of course, there are tapes still "floating" around out there in people's private collections and I'm sure there are little "mom and pop's" thrift shops scattered around where you can possibly still find some for sale but it's safe to say you're not gonna go to any Walmart or other mainstream retail store and find them. Now we have DVD's and and the VHS tape has all but disappeared. Give it time and you may very well, someday, see the desktop go the way of the dinosaur, so to speak.

The only difference is cost and comfort. Desktops are less costlier in comparison to laptops and you an upgrade many new features in your desktop easily whereas it is not the same case with the laptops and the advantage of laptops is that they are portable and can be carried anywhere. They occupy very less space.

because desktop can last long than laptop thats why most companies still using desktop, and once they have problem, desktop is not hard to fixed with unlike laptop that is very expensive and the maintenance is also expensive, like every parts of laptop is expensive. desktop can last long, you can even use it 24 hours but in laptop you can only used it for few hours. life expentency of desktop is of course more long than laptop even though its handy.

It's because laptop is much more expensive than the desktop computer. With $1000 you could get a much more good desktop than a $1000 laptop.

well laptop is very handy... the employees might bring it home har har har and that is for office used only. maybe that is there reason. or why do they have to buy laptop if the desktop is still working. even big companies need to watch the money they are spending. they need to account it too. they should not replace something that is still working. thats only my opinion.

i agree with blackflorinel and other said, laptops are handy and most of the time when they malfunction it's hard to replace their parts and technician's fee is quite bigger. although companies have money they need to look their budget.
