A vacation home

I saw a photo of a thatched cottage in Denmark near to a sandy beach. A British lady bought it as a vacation home. I am so surprised to hear that prices are not too expensive in that part of the world. I usually imagine people buy a vacation home in a sunny country like in Spain, Italy or Greece if the person comes from Northern Europe. Those that come from North America might have a vacation home in the Caribbean. One of my friend's dads moved to Thailand and met a lady. He ended up getting married and staying in Thailand permanently. It must be amazing to have a vacation home then to move to that country forever. I prefer to travel to many different countries rather than the same destination every year. Would you like to have a vacation home? If so which country would you like to have it in? Maybe it would be a train journey away or a plane ride of many hours? What sort of vacation home would appeal to you?

If one day i can have a vacation home from somewhere in a countryside. I prefer to buy a vacation home near the ocean. I like it to be near the sandy beach because I want to see the beautiful ocean scenery everyday. Having a peaceful and beautiful surrounding is another key to live a blissful and fruitful life. I would like to ride a plane if I want to go home to my dream vacation home. So that should be in some exotic place. But then I can always find one nice place in our own locality and that will be much better and convenient for me.

I am like you in that I prefer to travel to different locations each time that I go anywhere. I love to explore new places and find out how locals live in whatever area that I am in. My wife likes to just go somewhere and relax though, so I could see us buying a holiday home in Thailand if anywhere overseas. You can get so much more house and land for your money than you can get here in Australia. Once the kids are out of our hair, we might move there and live like kings and queens!

I would like to have a holiday home on the Gold Coast in Queensland, so we can go up there a few times a year , as we can get really cheap flights when they go on sale. I like to travel overseas, but I don't think I could go back to the same place all the time. I like to travel and see all sorts of things,so it would be hard to be tied down to one country.

Just like you, I would prefer to go different countries for vacation. That way I would experience more of the world. But if there was a constant place where I would consider a permanent vacation place, that would be my parent's house. They currently live near a beach half way around the world. I grew up there and it would be nice to go back there every 2 years or so.

An island in the middle of a lake. That way the balmy spring, summer, and fall breezes would keep the majority of the bugs away. It would be a boat ride away. I would fill the island with vegetable baring plants and berry bushes as wells fruit trees (since we're imagining).

I don't like to have a vacation home in any country. I know life is very small. So I want to go newer places in every occasion. Every country has separate charm. So I can't say this country is good or that country is bad.

Actually I really wanted to have a vacation house in the upper or northern part of our province, not so far from our own home but relatively cooler than the weather down here. The ambience is also really nice and romantic. Perfect for me and my loved one.

I have no desire to have a vacation home. Taking care of one is plenty for me. Besides I like to vacation and see new places. If I inherited a vacation home, I'd probably keep it for a year and then sell it.

Yes, I would love to have one. It is, in fact, my dream to have a vacation house someday. I'd pick a vacation house in my boyfriend's country (Austria). I want it to be in the countryside. I don't want it to be in the middle of a populated town -- I want some peace and quiet while I stay there. A simple yet relaxing house would be fine.

I was in UK and was in Denmark too, I was really surprised that everything's expensive in UK (Portland and in Weymouth which are both in Dorsett). And when I was in Denmark (Esbjerg, to be precise), the expenses there were doubled up compared to the prices there in UK. I guess in differs on places in a certain country, or maybe, basic commodities has the higher tax or something like that, rather than housing. As for a vacation home, yes. I plan to have one when I reach 50 or so, could be to a place that's somewhat "close to heaven." :)

Hi Maximax, I would love to have a cottage in the South of France cos as I live in England if the aqsh cloud or airstrikes affected I could still sail or get a train over instead. Iwould love a place on Fiji but flights expensive so South ofFrance will be fine for right now. Huggles. Ellie :D

Well, I would like to have vacation at your country Uk, as I am from India, and the state where I live, here's too hot now days. Hmmmm.....I would like to have vacation home there, but prices of that mustn't be so expensive. Well, I also prefer to travel to different countries, but frankly speaking I haven't gone out of India still, but I have plan to do so soon. That was strange incident for me which you mentioned here, that your friend's dad got married to a lady and finally decided to settle there, Wow !! By the way, you are looking so credulous, please accept my friend request. Thanks.
