People have become quite opinionated and critical on the web of late

I have noticed both on my social networking pages and other people's, that the comments left by visiors are either some type of advertisement or graphic, or the person is slamming the person the page belongs to. People are getting that way in chat rooms and such too. Either that or guys wanna "cyber" with me. It is getting hard to find a good group discussion on anything that isn't full of vitriol and spite. Even on you tube a lot of people are very critical of anything but the very best examples of something. Why? Has everyone else grown so perfect that they think that they can just sit in judgement on people because they are so great? Is this trend a reflection of the general mood of the internet these days, the air of pessimism and despair that seems to be seeping into peoples bones these days as the economy and all of the world news gets worse and worse. Or are folks just venting their own frustrations on the internet because they are hidden behind a screenname and are thus somewhat anonymous?

I believe it would most likely be the latter option. These people may be having the worst day of their life (yet).. lol.. and they have no place to vent their frustration or anger without actually inviting some physical actions to their face so the safest place is to do it behind the mask of a username in front of their pc in their safe and warm home. Of course that is just what I think may be possible, happy myLotting :)

I think the anonymity is a big factor. Also, there is so much information out there now I think people are getting overwhelmed and frustrated. I am not a bog fan of social networking sites. I do have a face book but that is to monitor my daughters account. I dont update status or anything like that, I sign in about once a week to see what she is doing/saying. But I do see the stuff that her and her friends talk about and all I can do is shake my head.

Yes, I've noticed that too. It's a part of the human nature.Imagine me, a loser who came across a popular video with good ratings. What should I do so that I could get some attention?I leave a comment that makes others reply, react, notice me, hate me, whatever. It's because I can't create, it's because I don't want to be positive, it's because I'm a virtual vampire.Have you heard about this thing? These people do it on purpose. You can spend all your life arguing with them, commenting back, this is what they want you to do.They join forums to ruin the discussions, they leave comments like:"Your vidz are all gay". Don't pay attention.Block them, deleted them. That's all we can do.
