Not really but a black bear has been spotted around the county I live in one of the neighboring county the past weeks. It is possible all the sighting are of the same bear. The other day in was in someones backyard! It has not done anything but every time a bear sighting has been reported, people come to see the bear like it is a tourist attraction! Like taking pictures and acting no one has seen a wild animal! T Black Bears can be dangerous and if people don't leave it alone it could hurt or kill a humman! People just don't get it that we should leave the bear alone! There are probaly more bears around but they decide to stay in the woods instead of wondering around near people like this bear has been! Finally after about 6 or more sightings the sheriff department has decided not to report anymore bear sighting because people get so stupid! No one wants a dog or a human to find out what is like to be attacked by a bear! I just hope the bear is not bothered anymore and will go back home where he beongs!

I was wondering the same thing! I beat the bear had discovered he could an easy meal from the trash! I hope the bear doesn't get so bad he ends up being killed! I rather see him relocated to somewhere in the state where he would not be albe to travel back!

There's a bear cub up a tree about 20 miles from here. It's already all over the radio...

Where I live, bear are almost as common as squirrels. It is not at all unusual to see one in town..."in town" isn't a very big area, lol. I get them in my front yard all the time in fact.
Black bear can be dangerous, this is true, but not usually. Black bear are generally shy and will wander away when people are present. Bear attacks in the U.S. are more often from grizzly bear rather than black bear. Black bear attacks are actually pretty rare. The danger is highest when there are cubs present. The WORST thing you can do is get between a black bear and her cubs, even if by accident.
The best thing to do is discourage them from coming around. Keep trash inside. Take down bird feeders, especially humming bird feeders. Don't leave grills outside either as they love the grease left behind on them.
If one does turn up in your yard. Make a lot of noise from the safety of your door way, this is usually enough to scare them off. Then, call the fish and game officials. Bear have a wide range of territory they wander in, often over a hundred miles. It might just move on eventually on it's own.

We know this black bear didn't have any cubs. I hope the DNR told people to get rid of the bird feeders, keep their trash inside and keep any dogs out of the back yards! Not to mention they don't try to feed the bear! I know black bear attacks don't happen alot as grizzly attacks. Infortunely so many people can be so stupid! They think wild animals aren't dangeous! I hear to many stories of dumb people doing stupid things around wild animals! I fear for the bear! I hope he stays out of trouble and doesn't hurt or kill a dog or human! I want this bear to live along life and trouble free life!

I don't think this bear is really afraid of people right now. He has kept his distant from people. I do fear for him because there are so many stupid people out in this world! I don't want to see him hurt or kill a human r dig which means he will be killed! If the bear does start causing trouble, like getting into trash,he is tranquilized and relocted far away!
