This shot attatched shows one cluster of many of my Red Rasberry bushes. The honey bees and butterflies are swarming around them like crazy adding to the natural pollination of them. I plan on making Rasberry jelly/jam from them this year. I must see at least 1500 or more berries formed. I'll be eating and giving away a lot of berries this year. I add them freshly picked in my oatmeal or cold cereal or a bowl with some milk and sugar as an afternoon snack. How do you like your berries, be they red, black, boysenberry or whatever variety? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I like strawberries and blueberries....in cereal...or on ice cream. I am not a fan of raspberries...ate too many when I was a kid. Just recently though I have tried a few things with raspberry flavor and it's been okay...

hi jillhill just thinking on how we can get turned off certain things we ate too much of as a kid.I do remember the thorns that scratched my hands as a kid when I would sneak down the raspberry patch and eat them warm off the bush. I still love raspberries but grapefruit is a different story my dad made me sit for a whole day without food because I would not eat the small sour yellow grapefruit. finally when he was out of the room my mom snuck in an empty grapefruit shell to show that I had indeed finally ate the hated food. so from then on I did not take any grapefruit as I did not want to go through that again. I am in my eighties and I still despise those small sour yellow grapefruit . I do like the pink grapefruit though as its naturally sweeter.

oh raspberries in good oatmeal sounds so good I am hungry again and I just ate. I love fresh raspberries in cold cereal too or just as is with a little aspartame on them. oh I know some of the people who think that is deadly will be at me but phooey on them. snopes proved it would take eating one hundred ton of the stuff in one day to do any harm. so since I am a diabetic and using sugar for anything except bouts of low blood glucose is a no no I use equal and I do not want to hear anyone preaching to me about it. those non sugar sweeteners have been a wonderful boon for us diabetics.

Mine won't be ready until around August, they are a lot later here in the UK, but I do so love them, I think that they are my favourite fruit!! I love them as they are with ice cream or with my breakfast cereal.

Fresh off the vine, straight into my mouth. At least another week before I can pick any, though.

Sounds like you'll be having an awsome harvest this summer of berries! I was hoping this year to get some raspberries off my lil plant this year but my hubby mowed them over last year not realizing. So they are growing back but only like 18in tall, looked like they had a few flowers but then the next time I look nothing. So I dunno if I have to wait til next year provided hubby doesn't run them over again? I also have a mulberry tree in back too, but it doesn't produce much or too often so hard to say what I'll see from there this year.

I've some that are well over 6 feet tall this year. They spread like wildfire. I have to clear a few from my strawberry patch soon. Once cut/mowed, they usually won't produce for 2 years from my experiences. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~
