I do I think they are beautiful. I love all the kinds of beautiful colors they are. I like to pick them and arrange them in the same vase. I got some brown eyed susans last evening. I piced oh I guess a dozen and they look so cute together. So I was wondering if any of you stop and pick the wild flowers for your table? I think God must be an artist the way the flowers and trees seems to bloom all at different times! What kinds of wild flowers do you have near you?

I used to pick the wild flowers when I was small, but my father showed me that most of them wilt when cut. He also explained to me the way plants grew and how the flowers were needed there so we would always have flowers to see. Sinc then, I grow my own flowers to have cut flowers although I prefer a plant full of flowers.

Hi Marguicha. I am like you I would rather have a plant instead of cut flowers. I have many flowers we planted in our yard to cut and put in vases. I love the way they make the house smell. Like it is a flower garden.

I like beltflower very much, but it only grows in my hometown. When autumn comes, they are like purple bell swaying gently in the wind,so elegant and beautiful. If there are lots of flowers i used to pick some and take it home,if not very much then I will just go away so others can also see the beauty of the nature.

Hi Ann and welcome to my lot. The beltflower sounds beautiful. Haven't seen any flower that looks like that here. I have found a wild vine that has orange trumpets on them but they only grow in a certain kind of soil and we don't have that kind of soil on our land so I leave them where they are. For now anyway.

I didn't get to see your photos. I didn't get your response in my email. I was looking for something on here when I seen your response. But I will go look at them . I showed the picture to my husband and he don't know what they are called either. Do they grow on a vine? I think I have seen these before wish I knew what they were? Thanks for sharing.

Hi. free_man. I love your brown eyed susan's wild flowers I have never stopped and picked wild flowers before. I do love wildflowers. I can see why you enjoy picking wild flowers. They are very attractive and vibrant in color. I have always wanted to pick flowers in general and put them in a vase. But, I never had the chance to. I hope that when I get the chance, my children won't pluck the live flower petals off bit by bit. God is so amazing at all of the things that he has created for us all to enjoy here on earth!

Hi Cream. Don't you remember doing that as a child. I do it was some kind of game I think. That is the reason I love growing flowers so I can pick them and put them in a vase it makes the house smell so fresh when there are fresh flowers. Don't stop your children from picking the petals it is a fun thing to do. Get them to put the petals in a bowl and it will still smell fresh.

It has gone away with my childhood days.Just then my father used to take us to the outskirts of the town often and we were glad to collect flowers of various colors and even catch butterflies. That would be wonderful time pass with the nature. In the rainy season we can see some snails too which we bring to our home and play with it.

Hi Srganesh. I am old and still notice them and love to see the beautiful flowers. I guess that is how I keep myself feeling younger then I am. My husband said something the other day he told me I would never get old because of my childish way of looking at the flowers and nature. Don't let go of those childish things and stay young at heart.

Well said! Aging is related with the body and not to the mind.if we can retain our mentality like a child which exclaims at all the beauties of nature,we will never grow old and life will be simple and meaningful too. Sure,we all should have the patience to look around, what all things God has created for us.

Hi Beauty. Sure they look good in the wild but on the back roads not many people drive slow and enjoy the beauty of Gods creations.

I usually don't pick wildflowers. I live in the desert and most of the wildflowers have thorns associated with them. So I just watch them from afar...

Hi Hofferp. I don't think I would pick that flower either. I don't really care for flowers with thorns on them. Although our roses has thorns on them. I do love them.

Not me but my sister loves doing that, i mean picking wild flowers then she would arrange them just like a pro lol .I dont know why she does that but she always do that when we are walking home and there are alot of flowers near us. She says it relaxes her to see beautiful flowers arranged the way she likes it. Well for as long as nobody complains with what shes doing i just let her be. Its a different story though if she will be picking on the flowers of our neighbors lol

Hi Setsuna. I think they make me relax too I guess that is why I love collecting the beautiful flowers that others thinks of weeds.

It's strange that I go walking in the countryside nearly every day but I never come back with any flowers. Maybe it's because some of them are protected so I'd get into trouble for picking them. Maybe I'll check which ones are not protected and treat myself to a small bunch. Thanks for the idea.

Hi Jules and welcome to my lot. I never thought about them being protected. But most of the flowers I pick are what others call weeds. I think they are beautiful and should be enjoyed by all. I don't pick more then what I think will make a nice bouquet. And most of the wild flowers I pick are in the weeds behind our home on our land. I will make a flower bed of these brown eyed susans this year. Just transplant them from one part of our yard and put them in a nice cleaned out spot in the front yard so people can enjoy the beauty of our home. Enjoy them get you a bouquet of them !
