I must admit I only know a few of them, and they are the same as what my friends use as well luckily for me... but there have been times when I just could not work it out, and then I had to chance looking stupid, and actually asking them lol

I agree! I only use a few of them too! I mean, there's so many out there and I don't even know half of them! I feel weird when I have to ask them what they mean! I usually just use LOL or JK on here. I used to use a lot more when I talk through instant messaging, but I feel like I'm better understood here if I refrain from doing so. It's more professional too. I don't recommend writing a resume in texting lingo. LOL

I seldom chat or go to the chat room. I have encountered some chat lingoes that I don't understand. If I can't understand what they are saying I just asked them the meaning of the word. It's better to ask and pretend that you know. It's better to know the meaning so that you can use it and be "cool".

hehehe...i'm not familiar with some of those words but i just try to observe other chatters who use those words so i can know the meaning from them.

I usually just search for the chat lingo, in case I don't understand what my friend is saying! :D Asking my friend what it means always makes me feel slightly stupid. But then again, after a while, we just started typing everything out fully instead of using lingo, I'm not too sure why though.
