I love soccer and all, but I heard an interesting rumor on the radio that said that Mexico would have to purposely lose their first game to South Africa because the World Cup this year takes place in South Africa. Do you think this is true? And who do you think will win between Mexico and South Africa?

That is far from the truth. The World Cup is not fixed and I feel mexico will win 2-1 in this match with ease.

These guys at Fair Shake of the Sauce Bottle have found proof of who really won the world cup bid and that it is a corrupt sham. http://www.fairshakeofthesaucebottlemate.com

I think such rumors always do rounds around major tournaments. Especially when there are upsets. I think no player likes to lose any match leave alone something as big as the World Cup match which comes once in 4 years. I will simply ignore such rumors and would rather love to enjoy the matches. Cheers! Ram

I sure hope not, i'll tell you something, I'm from Honduras and it just happens that football wise Mexico is one of our greatest rivals, but in this World Cup I do hope they will get farther than they have in the past and I hope they begin this by winning against South Africa.

No, this sounds ridiculous. Only local football leagues in Bulgaria and Italy are corrupted ;)

I am so READY to watch this famous event: The World Cup 2010 in South Africa. Soccer game corruption is not strange. I do not think that the corruption will happen in this big event. The opening game will be interested. I think that it will be the fair game. Mexico will be a favorite in this game because it had history. But the host South Africa is not the easy opponent to play. This will be 50:50 game but I hope that South Africa will upset Mexico.
