Well, our university offer both courses: Bachelor of Science in Accountancy(BSA) and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Management Accounting(MA)..If you take up BSA and you get a grade lower than 2.0 in any of your major subjects, you are shifted to MA..Personally, I think the only difference between them is that BSA's maybe more proficient in accounting compared to MA's..In subjects, the only difference is auditing, the rest being the same subjects..Do you think MA's could get jobs in the future as good as those BSA's can get?..

The BSA course will enable you to take the Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination if you plan to have a license and practice public accountancy in the Philippines. The other course is just a device by some schools to enable students to pursue accountancy. Personally, I see this as motivated by profit and a fraudulent act on the part of schools offering such. Nonetheless, it may be beneficial to students as they are able to land a similar job with their BSA counterparts, except of course for jobs requiring the competence of a certified public accountant.

It depends also on the person who did very well in their academic records. It is also basis for landing a job. You might graduate as a BSA student but your performance were low compare to the MA student who perform very well in the class, which will you choose. They said that BSA students are more focus on the profit of the organization compare to the MA students who were also concerned in top management and human resource.
