While trying to investigate the shooting of the Mexican boy that crossed into the Us a few days ago, border patrol agents were at gun point by Mexican soldiers or federal police.
Mexican authorities said that US officials were crossing into Mexico to retrieve evidence. However, US officials have video proving this wrong and that in fact a Mexican officer crossed into the US side and picked something up.
It seems Mexico is very upset with the new law in Arizona, National Guard at the border and this shooting.
Chihuahua Governor is saying that all of this is caused by Arizona's new immigration law. By the way, the shooting happened at the Texas/Mexico border.

What do you think this could mean for relations with US and Mexico?

The boy's body was only 20 feet on the Mexican side of the border. IMO anyone, no matter how old they are, being that close to the US border are up to no good. Other newscast say he was throwing rocks at the guards to inflict bodily harm. Therefore the boy and his companions should not have been playing around that area but more likely trying to get into the states and should have expected some retaliation from the guards.
Personally I do not give a damn what it does for US/Mexican relations. By the way what kind of relations do we have with Mexico that are important to the US?

That sounds like a perfect description for our relationship with Mexico.

I could really care less about "relations" with Mexico. This has been a one-sided relationship anyway with Mexico getting, saying, whatever it wants. I'd just as soon this relationship go on the cold side for awhile...or for a long while... That depends on Mexico. When they start respecting our laws...then we'll talk. Until then, let's block the border and keep rounding up Mexicans and shipping them back home.

laglen,
I am suspecting that there's an excessive use of force or miscarriage of justice on the part of the border patrol agent on duty because the illegal teenager is not even holding a weapon to begin with.
I am not saying that the border patrol's job is easy but knowing the potential dangers that these agents faced everyday, I am sure they are well trained and equal to the task to carry out their duties. So, I am just shocked that the agent shot to kill in this incident when he could actually shoot to maim.
