microsoft surrendered

due to the growing boom of opensource community microsoft have surrendered , they have released some part of there sorce code under opensource licence the code is avilable in sourceforge http://sourceforge.net/projects/wix/ . is this implies that microsoft is surrendering to opensource . what is your opinion

I am agreeing with u.now opensource has developed a lot.i think in recent future opensource will overtake microsoft.

I think that more than surrendering they realized that opensource is no more a niche sector, and that there is a strong demand for open source software, they release those little part of code to better integrate open source software in windows, since i believe this is a strong need of ms customers.
