Treating making money from home as a business

I have been reading and thinking over the past days and have come to a few conclusions that I would welcome discussion of. 1) We should treat making money from home as a business, set aside x hous each day and work at it, exclusively...I work at it for 14 hours a day 6 days a week in different forms 2) We need to develop projects that will bring in an income in the medium term and long term as well as the short term. 3) We need to balance the proportions of those different income raising projects according to our oun needs, but everyone should work at medium and long term projects for some time each day, from the very beginning 4) To develop our businesses we need to be watching and listening for the needs that people have, so that we can try to develop a unique products or services to fill those needs. If this sounds like a business plan, it is.

It's just that I am losing hope :(. I registered on these sites like neobux, dollaronline, donkeymails and it seems you can only earn cents everyday. It's making me frustrated that there's all these hype about online jobs when it's not really much. Sorry to rain on everyone's parade. I'm just not having a good day with these sites.

Hope you have had better days since, sorry so long in responding. I have been spending my time earning money by writing articles, rather than chatting on Nylot. Try writing for InfoBarrel.com. Bunch of nice people, earning potential (long-term not tomorrow or next week) to match your efforts. All the sites you mention are no good to me. I need $500 a week to pay my mortgage and bills. Sites like those just distract me from the main job. I have spent the whole day linking to a new blog I put up to try to earn money by running website building courses. These days I only write for Info Barrel and work on my blogs, I think that is the only way to EVER approach my income target

Working mon is right. On Mylot you will never earn a lot, but youwill find lots of people who want to help in any way they can. I cannot count myself ab expert in he field of making money online, because I have idea, but too early yet to say if they are going to work. We cannot give up on the Internet as an income source. It's allwe've got!

I agree with treating it seriously. I am online at least 8 hours each day...most days longer. I try to take evenings and weekends off...I will pop in at those times but never for long. This is my family time and after working hard at this for 10 years I can afford to take that time off. I also think that it is important to have your own work area...I don't care if its a corner in your living room...you need a place to WORK...I also have my own computer, so I never need to share online time. I understand your short-med-long term earning goals...because it is important to have a saving plan...no one is going to pay us a retirement

Yes your own pc, desk and peace and quiet are essential. I can only work if I have the house to myself. I am online at 5am until 8pm every day except Sunday, when I get the gardening tools out and catch up with the weeds and the 'lawn'. I have all these fine ideas, but all my efforts have been long-term, I need to switch some to medium-term so I have an income next year. I am looking at a few revenue share article sites, but want to decide on ONE, before I start

Hey Philtrate. I think Mylot is full of people who don't look on it as a buisness. they just want to make a little to pay for a one off expense, or a internet bill or something. Those of us who are here for work are easy to spot. I tend to work though the day but i have a break at least every 3 hours if not two. just a walk round teh garden or a cuppa even. I also set up a work area like workingmom. I try not to work more than 2 thirds of a day, i've worked to my own schedule before and they say that that time structure the most productive way of working, while having a life and not achieving burnout. Don't push yourself too hard. And yes planting all ones seeds in hope of a big crop doesn't always feed you tomorrow. my little jobs have taken me from £20 earnt to just scraping £100 in less than a month, not that i'm giving up on the garden.

Hey yourself, gfeefe... I am one of those prople who has to go at something 200%. Then collap[se for a week after 4 weeks of it. I put myself undr pressure. This week I have been struggling with a website. I used a program to make it, butthe links would not load correctly. In the end I did it all in 1 day using a HTML editor, the old fashioned way. Hi Jennyze I know that not everyone needs to treat it all as a business. I used to have a job, too. I did not do any of the online work then, because I was too tired too. The only reason I got broadband again was when I lost the day job and had to apply for jobs online and come up with some way to earn when the state benefits stop.

I have taken your discussion into deep consideration. I have decided through this deep thinking time that you are indeed a genius! I would love 14hrs in the day even a definite straight hour to dedicate to online work. I will try to plan something soon to help my start up at least.
