What's your opinions about 'envious', and what will be your best approach?

I've come across quite a few incidents and experiences 'envious' in human being's mind that was completely blown me away as it was VERY INTENSE, the type that you would expect to see only on screen and not in real life. I've now come to realize the very dark side of people's mind that is really scary and dangerous all rooted from the fact that they've seen what you have that they don't and they feel acutely bitter about it. What is your opinions about this? How far do you think a person can go being driven by intense envious? and what will be your best approach if you were to come across one of them? Thanks.
