old version os clone to new os?

I worry if what will happen to my old hd. I just want to clone it as my back up. I will put it in new hd. What should i do?

well as the post above use norton ghost. it will basically copy one hard drive to the next. but the bad thing about this is that the bad sectors or corrupt files will be also copied. my suggestion before you do this is to defrag and delete those corrupted files. but the easiest thing to do is to connect it both and just copy the whole drive by copy paste.

There is backup and recovery software named GHOST. You could create a mirror from your old harddisk and then extract the mirror to your new harddisk.
