Technology makes me sick

Ok so my previous phone was a Samsung Delve from Alltel. When I bought it, it was pretty amazing I thought I'd never had a touch screen phone. Well the thing lasted me an amazing 2 years before I decided to move up to a Droid Eris. Well After receiving my droid eris in the mail it was when I took it out of the box and was confused on how to start it up (battery was dead had to plug it in first lol) that I realized this was my new amazing toy. Well the honeymoon period, about one week, that I had the phone it was spectacular. I showed it to everyone I bragged about it on facebook, I even designated it a spot on my nightstand table. Well as it turns out the internet on the phone was extremely slow, it dropped calls regularly, and the ringer constantly goes to vibrate in my pocket. Now I know you all have explanations on why the call keeps getting dropped, however, I did recently have a decent phone that did basic generic stuff and never had a dropped call from my side. I couldn't believe that the retail price for this phone was marked as high as it was. I wouldn't pay more than $80 for this phone. Now for the physical dropping of the phone. I have dropped the phone twice in 2 months now. The first time was when I first week I received the phone. It hit the ground leaving a minor scuff on the plastic. Well about 2 weeks ago I was sitting in a chair smoking on our patio and my sister asked me to use my phone. I handed it to her and it slipped out of my hands. When it hit the ground the entire screen cracked now my phone looks like a dead christmas tree. My samsung delve has been through countless drops, been spilled on, and may have been on the stove i dunno, but it was in good condition. I gave it up for this crap ugh. I believe that things are getting cheaper and cheaper as we progress in this sucky economy. I just wish they would lower their dang prices with it! What do you think? any similar experiances?

heh, my phones always end up having broken screen. doesn't matter if they are "hitproof" or whatever the word is. my phones usually last from 6 months to a year and then the final drop happens and bang, screen if fked. i have always been able to receive calls etc. only the screen, always the screen. bah.
