Like thousands of other women across the UK, I am taking part in the Cancer Research UK Race for Life this year &, at the charity's suggestion, set up an online donation page.(The link badge is on my profile should anyone feel so inclined) Of the people who have sponsored me so far, only 3 of them know me personally. Some are friends of my son but most are random people who happen to use the same music forum as him but dont really even know him. I am deeply touched that these, predominantly young people have taken the time & trouble to give so generously. So, what's given your heart a fuzzy glow lately?

Firstly well done on your run, I am doing it but because of back problems I and an old friend are walking it!!! Like you many of my sponsers are 'friends' only in the online way - off a couple of forums and Facebook that I am on. My 'fuzzy glows' lately have been all grandchildren related by some of the lovely comments I have been getting from the 8 and 6 year old ones who have been staying with me this week!!

there truly are. my cousin the other week was riding in the car with my father and there was this little kid crossing the street and he had a plastic bag of bottled water, the bag tore so all the bottled water rolled everywhere. my cousin's sixteen, in that stage when kids are normally too cool to care, but she got out of the car, and helped the little kid who was already crying in exasperation. she took care of the traffic too so there wouldn't be an accident. i'm so proud being related to her.

That was indeed both very kind and very sensible. I think its a shame that young people get such a bad press through the actions of a few when there are really so many decent youngsters out there who never get the credit for their good deeds.
