Slovenia started their campaign with a win over Algeria thanks to a goal from captain Koren. It was really a dull and drab match with hardly any good chances. Algeria just looked as if they were not interested in playing the game. They were down one man that too a person who just came as a sub. Then their goal keeper had a Robert Green moment and conceded a sloppy goal. What is happening in this group for goalkeepers? What is your take on this match? Cheers! Ram

I'm from Slovenia and at first it looked the Algerians are way better but our team held on and we were a bit lucky i guess but there was this other shoot that was very nice. So the Slovenian "fairytale" starts again but i bet it'll be over soon.

Yes, and they find themselves in pole position to qualify for the next round. All they need to do is pull one more rabbit out of their hat in one of the next two matches. Cheers! Ram

I did watch the match and thought that Algeria were probably the better team, although both teams were pretty poor. I am from England and after that game i am very confident that both England and the USA will both go through to the knock out stages.

Yes, both the English and US would be licking up their lips to take on Algeria and Slovenia. Having said that Slovenia now have put themselves in pole position to qualify, they just need one of the other two to have a bad day to sneak in!! Cheers! Ram

Algeria is a typical African team, they have their highs and then have their lows all in the same season. They lack consistency but unlike Ghana, Nigeria and the like they are not going to threaten any team in their group. I won't blame the goal on the ball like some suggest with Green, the fact is they took their eye off the ball and were already planing where to kick/throw the ball next before they had it. I feel there will be more keeper blunders in the future. Happy MyLotting

Yes, the other African teams at least have stamina and a stomach for fight. That seemed completely absent with the Algerian team. And I do not buy that it was a ball problem with Green either!! Cheers! Ram
