how many of you feel that in this day and age woman should wear veil and why or why not?I think there is no reason to continue practice of medieval times.Muslims and hindu woman of both communities are made to cover their faces.its wrong and inhuman.

A woman in veil - In some countries it is compulsory to be covered like this, irrespective of the weather.
I am not sure whether you mean at functions, or on continuous basis. Sometime in functions you have keep up with customs and cultural values. Its adds beauty and colour to the function. But on a continuous basis, I agree that it should be done away with. It was necessary when bandits came on horseback and carried away the beautiful women from the villages. But now it is outdated. But very few people wear a veil now. In some countries it is compulsory, but the women are protesting against it.

I disagree that veils in any case add beauty to the functions,I am not talking about light netty veils,I am talking about the actual veil being covered form head to toe,Inhindus alos yopu are supposed to cover yourself till chest level.I have myself worn it forced way and I could not see anything except the slippers of my hubby walking in front and I was wondering if in case somebody with same type of slippers join him whom willI follow. It would have been funny if that had happened and would have served them right if I would have followed a stranger home.

It is a personal thing. And also a cultural and religous thing. Americans are more liberal than Muslims and Hindus. But, I must admit that it makes me sad to see their men in the summer wearing shorts and tees, and the poor women are covered up from head to toe.

I know I have often wore one as hindu bride and I tell you its really hot inside a veil. I hate people doing it to their women all the time and women admiring them for it.

I wear a veil. I just like to see a veil at a wedding. But I guess it is all what the bride like. It is her big day.

I think you have never worn a veil yourself or have been a victim of veil culture.Imagine yourself being shut inside for two months of winter without a chance to sit in the sun or to cover yourself with sweat running down your neck in hot months and working on a gas stove for hours day after day-will it look great then also?

i think as we head in to the 21st century its darn stupid for any woman to evewn consider wearing the vail, i dont mind if people want to do it in the middle east or in those countries called stan, but why on a rock in the north Atlantic? it beggars belief

First of all a proper understanding has to be made regrading the use of viel. It is worn when a woman believes that the onlookers could be indecent and might be attracted to her. I believe viel shouldnt be worn in most places these days.
