I've had a long day and I'm utterly exhausted, but I still cannot fall asleep. Last night I slept really well, but woke up tired and have been exhausted all day. How is it that I can sleep well, but still feel tired, and now be very tired but not able to sleep?

I think the first 3 months I was pregnant with my son, if I was not at work I was asleep. Hubby hardly saw me at all.

Do you snore at night? It may be the reason why you're feel very tired after a good night of sleep. Try not to sleep too much on your back, roll to your sides once or twice. If you're not falling asleep, try not to worry or think too much. Just try to relax before you lay down to sleep. If you can't, then maybe exercise in the evening before you go to bed, sit-ups and push-ups will be fine. Hope it helps.

Hubby says I snore. I have to take him on his word on that one.

Ah, there may be many reasons for that. Once I got so exhausted during the whole day, I was on a football competition and it drained all the energy from me, in addition to that my body was hurting lightly because of the heavy physical action during the football games. When I finally landed in my bed in the evening, lying in the bed felt too good, I enjoyed it so much, that I wasn't even able to fall asleep quickly. I was just lying here, feeling how my tired body is finally getting some rest. But it looks that my mind wasn't as tired as the limbs!

Maybe your experiencing insomnia. Insomnia won't let you sleep no matter how tired you are. Just keep yourself busy and before you know it you'll be sleepy and be in the dream world in no time.

maybe it's not that you feel tired when you wake up maybe it's because you're still a little bit sleepy and you do not have enough rest, you couldn't call a sleep well if you still feel sleepy.

I think it has something to do with hormones. You could be excited about something and so these anxieties keep you wide awake. If you have slept well ,you shouldn't be tired. This, you must consult a doctor.
