As I'm sitting here watching the Tony Awards, all I'm seeing are these Oscar-winning actors/actresses winning and I'm starting to wonder, is broadway becoming just for the already famous? Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the occasional movie star turned broadway star, but maybe it's going a little too far? Are producers casting these movie-stars solely because of their name and not by their talent? And how many talented actors/actresses were turned away just because an Oscar winner wanted the same part?

Well, maybe, but maybe they truly are talented. I did end up being charmed by Catherine Zeta-Jones's emotional performance on A Little Night's Music (poor woman had a cold at the time) at the Tony Awards (she was okay in Chicago). But why only her? Bring out the whole cast. But in cases like these I blame casting, not the people who got casted. Who can say no?
