You must have a very lovely house and garden, and certainly can afford to pay for your household services. Maids and gardeners are very hard workers and have come a long way being able to make a decent living at it in most cases, as well they should.
I, on the other hand, could never afford such a luxury. I do manage quite well by doing all the chores myself, since it is only a tiny one bedroom apartment. I wish I had a garden but the closest I have is a shelf by a sunny window with all my plants on it.
I'm sure if I had a huge home with lovely gardens, it would be nice to have some help as I would imagine it wouldn't be easy to keep up by yourself.

Wow, that's awesome! Did you do the blue prints and everything? Or have someone else do it?
I would love to design my own home, but, I probably would have just a tiny cottage or cabin, as long as it's cozy. I have no need for a big home and love nature so much, this would be my little dream. Oh yes, and of course, I would have some land surrounding it so I could go walking and be amongst the tree's, flowers, and woodland animals.
I will take a look at your picture. I think you showed me your gardens once before and they were just gorgeous. You are very lucky to have what you dreamed for and I can understand why you would want it to stay beautiful.

Yes. I designed my home and the engineer worked out the rest of it. I too remember in some context I had sent you an older picture of my house. This is the latest one.As you know the landscape takes a different shape as the trees and shrubs grow.My house looks big but it is moderate in size. There are 3 bedrooms, one kitchen, a pantry, and ofcourse the toilets, etc. My hall is pretty large which has a dining section and a private space for watching tv.
I wish you good luck and if you keep dreaming believe me it will happen.

In India we think we cannot manage without the help of servants because here the are available dime a dozen. The labor is so cheap. The condition is not the same in other countries. In UAE people are forced to manage their houses without maid. They manage it quite well. They maintain their houses, entertain the guest and do everything else you mentioned.

There is a big difference between the kind of work that an Indian household is involved in compared to other countries. Perhaps your house may not have that kind of work where the help of a maid is required. But it is not so in many households. It also depends on ones life style. Some hardly cook at home and bring food from hotels. Some never have house guests. Some never have big houses. Some never have gardens. Some never have pets.

You also say that they are forced to manage their house work. In other words if they could find a maid they would certainly employ one. If one has no alternative what else can one do in order to survive?

Who doesn't want maid allknowing, they will surely employ one if they are able to. Managing such big houses is not an easy task. Sooner or later in India too the condition would be same when it would be difficult to get cheap labor. Government is doing their best to raise the living standard of every body. Now servants too have mobiles, TVs, and refrigerators in their houses. Their husbands are earning well. They are demanding higher wages. They set their own terms and conditions.

I don't have either a maid or a gardner. I have over the years employed a landscaper to come and mow the lawns and edge the property but not for long periods of time. I have also a few times hired someone to come in and clean but again never regularly. I am very picky and seem to always complain about something and so I would rather just do it myself. That way it is right (according to me) the first time and I haven't paid someone to do something that I come right in behind and redo.

i take care all the chores at home that's why i know the job of a housemaid isn't easy.
i grew up through the care of our housemaid. my mother needed to work and help my father because they are sending 3 children to school.
