Why does everyone assume making money on line is easy?

If making money online is so easy, and a sure fire way to get paid . . .Then WHY is the whole world not in on it! Seriously if it were that easy why isn't everyone doing it? If you know of any sites that actually pay I would really like to know because I myself have never ran across one, and HIGHLY DOUBT I ever will!
