i like going to the beach coz i grew up near it. but never did i learn how to swim there. i actually waited until i went into college so i could take swimming in my physical education. after that, i tried to swim in the beach and i couldn't move in the water. it's just so hard to paddle and move from one spot to another. such a big difference i guess. why in the pool i can swim, while in the beach it's so hard. on the lighter side, i can do floating in both. lol. i still enjoy swimming in the pool as i am still scared with the current of the water in the beach. i rather take a walk where the sand is kissed by the water.

I'm no longer a fan of the beach, i can handle the sand but i have spent nearly ten years of my job in salt water, and i now prefer some freshwater, or chlorine. Sad I know, but nothing can top the eye candy at the beaches. lol

wow. you almost made salt water your life. but i have a lot of eye irritation from either salt or chlorine and this forces me to go out of the water. or at least just to stay in the water without swimming or diving that the water splashes in my eyes.

As we have a pool I swim mainly in a pool. I don't ever swim in the sea in Britain now, although I did a lot as a child. I love to swim on the sea when I am abroad, my best experience was when I jumped from a boat into the Adriatic on a trip from Corfu to Paxos to swim in the deep, deep clear water - fantastic!!!!

well, actually, if only i have an oxygen tank, i would prefer to swim deep under. coz i don't have enough practice or even endurance to paddle with different strokes. it would have been lovely to see what's inside for sometime.

i like going to the beach and play on the shore but i still prefer to swim in the pool..i'm not really good at swimming and i can only swim a short distance..so i prefer swimming in a contained place where the water will not wash me far far away..also if ever i get drown, the lifeguard can easily rescue me..i think swimming in the pool is safer 100x fold..

I love to swim in the pool more. I don't like the beach much because, sometimes, it causes me to itch and feel icky because of its saltiness. The swimming in the beach could cause more sunburn compared to swimming in the pool. I like the water in the pool, it feels more fresh.

I prefer swimming at the pool since it just feels fresher than when I swim in the beach. In the beach, the saltiness and the murky water just make it seem unpleasant to me. The pool also doesn't have waves of water rushing above you...usually.

I'd like to swim more in the beach because ever since I was a little child, my family would always go to my aunt's private beach house. It'll take me the whole day to fully enjoy swimming in the beach. That was when I wasn't conscious of my skin color yet. Lol. During teens, I seldom swim in the beach because I want my skin to be lighter. I consider pool to be an alternative but still there's no place of fun swimming for me other than the beach.

I like swimming in a pool because water is soft than the beach which is salty. But walking by the beach is fine if I am alone. It's just like I am giving myself a clearer mind and a fresh start of a good day.

I love the beach but the sea scares me actually. It's so vast and full of mystery! Well for me they are both nice differently. The pool isn't as scary as the natural larger bodies of water. I can swim better knowing that there's no shark, or sea snake that's going to scare the life out of me. Or no waves, sea currents that make you feel powerless against it. Technically, it's easier to float in seawater. You can't argue with Physics. But psychologically, you are less paranoid in pool water than at sea. What I hate about pools is when it gets crowded. And you are forced to wear swimsuits. which I just hate.

I prefer to swim in the pool, although I do swim in the sea when we go to the beaches on the Costa Blanca in Spain. We have a pool just yards from our home, so it's convenient, and it's also easier to judge how much swimming you've done. As I swim to keep fit and lose weight, I like to get in at least 30 minutes swimming every day.

I Prefer The Pool , Just because of the safety it provides . I am also nearby beach and have tried few times to swim in the beach ,but i was unable to control myself and has been dragged into it twice , thanks to the Lifeguards , I am pretty much ok... From then on I fear of swimming in the ocean ...I like to stand by the waves ,but never go swimming over there...

I like to swim in pools because i just feel safe there while in the beach no one will notice that you already sank in the water.

I am able to swim more in the beach but I can do the same too in the pool. But if I have to choose between the two I would rather swim in the beach because it's wide not like the pool which is limited in space. I learn how to swim first in the beach because it's near in our house. That's where I grow up and swimming is an easy game to play with my friends. I do love the sea shore where the small and gentle waves is tickling your toes. I like the tiny bubbles created by the big waves and wash away in the sandy beach. Now all that is part of memories because it's been a long time i had visited a beach.

Im not to big of a fan of the sand and then having to scrub yourself for the sand that is stuck to you to come off and then im also red from being at the beach. I also am not a fan of the salt water and getting it in my eyes as it does burn your eyes and you have red eyes from that. It isn't to much fun, but i do live 20 minutes from the beach as i do live in Florida and am surrounded by so many beaches. Also i have a pool at home and i like laying out around the pool and as it is so hot already here i can take a dip in the pool any day and any time i want to as it is just in the back yard. It is a great home aspect and its great for the family to enjoy it also.

For me beach if preferable in me aside that it is salty it has no bacteria can manipulate in to your body and in the pool it made you dark skin after all.

i prefer in pool., i also tried to swim in beach and i also couldn't move in the water :) but i like in the beach, the sand, the sound of sea water and also to watch the sunset and sunrise.. :) the reason i do not like to swim in the beach is the salty sea water,. because i trained to open my eyes while swimming,. also some of sea animals.. and sometimes it is dirty, you have seen a garbage, waste from other people :

I prefer Swimming pool because the water level is constant, and I can practice better on the pool. However, I also want to swim on the beach and out into the open sea to see some marine life.
