Well, I am interested in traveling the world. At this point I am extremely bored with the typical 9-5 job. It's ok dont get me wrong, but right now for me its repeative. I am so eager for a change! I concluded that a career as Flight attendant would benefit me. My family discourages it, because the events happening within this decade. Im taking their advice into consideration, but I have strong desire to travel the world. Im single and I have no kids and I really need a fresh change...Do you think this is a beneficial move?

bizsource, If you have what it takes, then go for it. You will need to undergo a stringent and comprehensive selection and training process before you can be qualified to fly. Your family may have their concerns but if they can be objective enough, I believe the odds on the road is no better than up in the air. Whatever it is, you will probably need to consider if you could make it and eventually want it at the end of the day. Take care and have a nice day.

When I lived in Australia I was friends with a flight attendant. He was on vacation in sunny Queensland. I told me that his job was quite tiring at times. I liked going to the destinations but didn't have all that much time in any of them. He preferred doing long haul flights. He especially liked the Germany to Namibia route. He worked for a German airline. Maybe a flight attendant could have a route to do like London to Budapest. He or she might spend a couple of days in Hungary then fly back to London. On a long haul flight like Los Angeles to Sydney it would be exhausting. A flight attendant has to serve tea and coffee. Walking up and down the aisle for ten hours would require a number of days rest in Australia. I think it would be great to choose an airline that has exciting routes. Even working for an airline as a member of ground staff you would get reduced cost flights. I met two American guys that worked for an airline. They jetted off to many different countries on their time off working.

Being in a travel industry, I say that is a wise move. My boss was a travel attendant for 35 years with Philippine Airlines and she enjoyed the nature of her job going from one places to another, but the sad thing is until now she is still single. If I were you give it a try, follow where your heart is and goodluck!!

You also have to consider the airline industry is in its down time, and they have cut back of many personnel, and flight attendants. So, would it be a good industry for you to enter as a fresh meat? You might really take your relative's advises.

Its not an easy job and even though traveling is great you don't have a lot of time to spend in the countries you visit. It could be a great job for you in the short term of a year or maybe 2 but I would research more into it before you decide, get a better picture of what it entails.

Being a flight attendant is no easy job. It's a very risky job. However, if you really want to be a flight attendant, here is a tip. Before venturing out into the world of flight attendants, research on the major airlines that are available on your country. Then, look at their History, when did the airline started, and if the airline has been accredited to the International Air Transport Association(IATA). The most important part of your research is, if the airline company had a recent accident with one of their aircraft and the total number of airplanes crashed during the span of their operation. Being a flight attendant has its benefits. One of which is you can travel around the world for free. Good luck on your endeavor!
