Hey sweetie, I feel your pain. I am also a stay at home mom and make bead crochet jewelry. I've tried to set up a shop on Etsy but it was hard work! You have to promote your shop a lot - that's where I spent most of my time each day. You also have to get your feedback numbers decent which means that if you're not getting sales, you have to buy from other sellers in order to receive feedback. Well, this is what I was told, so please don't take my word for it. I still make jewelry but no longer take the time to take pictures, edit and type out a decription. I recently found a local boutique that has agreed to sell my jewelry for me. I set the price, and even though their cut is pretty steep, there is a good chance that I may be able to make some extra money that way without having to spend all of that time on the computer. I've heard that many artists usually start out selling their items for pretty cheap, and as their sales increase and they become more popular, then prices start to slowly increase until they are finally making what they feel is fair. Even though I'm still working on my first batch for this boutique, I'm pricing just a bit above cost (plus the percentage that the shop will take) in order to stay competitive. I hope it works! I wish you luck on your business. I know that the boutique that I'm going to has a local artist that makes bows that has become quite popular (according the the owner). Her prices are quite reasonable still, but according to the owner, she's getting customers that come in looking just for her stuff.... so there really is a market out there that is not as saturated as jewelry so it looks like you're getting yourself into a good niche. :-) Take care, Pinka

Online is very competitive. I think craft fairs, and selling in your community might help. It is difficult and take time, but do not give up.

Have you tried selling them at craft shows and at "craft malls"? I had a neighbor when I was growing up who quit her pt job to do her crafts as she was making more money sewing country dolls than she did working a real job. If you have a website you could create a web page on FB I know a gal online who sews reusable diapers and makes a living doing it and part of her strategy is her FB page and has her friends suggest her page ect ect.
