When will you start to let your toddler or young child sleep alone in a seperate bedroom? Do you feel secure about that?

i don't have a child yet but if i got one in the future..i will let him sleep in his own room as soon as he started saying his first words..atleast i will be secured that if ever something happens, he can call my name..also i believe that giving a child his own room will help him to be independent..it is very important for a child to feel that he has his own space because that will help him develops his own identity..

My nephew is 2 1/2 and he sleeps in his own room right next to my sisters room. They have the sliding doors to where if he wakes up he just opens them and it goes to their bedroom. I think its a good idea to start them early sleeping in their own beds. It's not good to let you're child sleep with you all the time because of all them deaths of parents accidently rolling on top of their child. If you let you're child sleep in the same room he's going to always want to do that. So start them out early and then they'll be in a habit of knowing to go into their own bed at night. You can always let them fall asleep with you and then put them to bed when their really asleep. Hope this helps!

I have a 15 almost 16 month old toddler, and he sleeps in the same bedroom as his brother and has done for the last few months. I was admittedly worried about it in the beginning and forever getting up out of bed to check on him... but he was always fine. I am okay about it now, and I still have the baby monitor switched on so I can hear him moving around. Their bedroom is also right next to mine, which is also good.
