I'm not one who is gonna complain that Hollywood must be drying up of ideas since they are remaking so many old movies and tv shows, because honestly Hollywood has been doing remakes for decades. They were doing remakes in the 50s so it is not a new concept.
However, I will admit that some remakes should have been left alone. One that comes to mind is Bewitched with Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell. I LOVE the original television series and was disappointed with the movie. I wasn't sure if they were making fun of it like The Brady Bunch movies did to the show or what.
What do you think is the worse remake?

I don't think remakes are not satisfactory, it depends how directors protray the movie. For eg, I think Clash of the Titans (new) was pretty disappointing, though it would be exciting for those who have never watched it before. It has lost the greek mythical flavour and atmosphere. But I like the new Chronicles of Narnia, compared to the old BBC version which was too slow and Aslan looked too fake.

It really does depend on the director's direction on the movie. I love the original Clash of the Titans as well. To me the latest one lacked the mythical adventure aspect of it. That's one thing I love about the classic movies based on Greek myths; the adventure of the journey. I've never seen the BBC version of the Chronicles of Narnia but it does sound like the newest version was better. I guess that is thanks to the new technology. thanx for responding.

That makes sense. I didn't even think about it that way. Interesting.

Ooooh worst remake ever? I think my vote goes to the 1988 Psycho. I watched the first when I was very young because I sneaked in on my parents watching it and I was traumatized for life! :) But the newer one was a disappointment. I hope that Hollywood doesn't mess up too many movies in the next coming years!

I'm gonna have to agree with you. There are some movies that need to be left alone and Psycho is one of them. None of the remakes can touch the original. Just thinking about it sends shiver down my spine. lol. Here's to hoping Hollywood will learn not to touch the classics.
