ebooks readers nowadays are flooding the market, its techy and handy as well, so many prefer to use them than handheld books, but I fear that maybe one day books will become obsolete... So, just want to ask u people what do u prefer books or e-books?

I could not give you a definite answer. With regard to the reading effect, paperback books are better. Though the technology of e-books has been developing very quickly these years, it is still unable to show the same reading effect as paperback books. But e-books have a big advantage over paperback books - portability. When I travel by train or by air, I could read hundreds of e-books.

Real books all the way. I like holding a real book, turning the page and feeling the paper on my hands. E books are cool in the fact that you don't have to take up so much space to hold multiple books, but there's only so much time I can spend reading on a screen before my eyes decide that enough is enough and I give up.

I use both kinds, but when it comes to preference definitely regular books come first. Though carrying a lot of books is easier in e-format, who reads all those books at once, anyway? I fwel more comfortable with a book in my hand. E-book doesn't permit all the postures while reading. Eye strain is just another problem. For use & throw books, I may prefer that version...

There's no question in my mind that I prefer real books. I much prefer being able to hold the book in my hands and to be easily able to carry it around. I also find that I have a more difficult time to read things online for a long period of time, which is another reason why I prefer books over e-books.

E-Books are much better for schooling I think. If I want to look up something for research, then it is easy to punch in a world and then it will bring it up. I use e-books for school and they have worked out well. There is just something about actual physical textbooks that really frustrate me for some reason. Therefore, once the e-book is available, I grab onto it. I would have it no other way. Still, nothing really beats the feeling of having a book in your hand. For pleasure, I still use physical books. Its too bothersome to read any other way, when I want to relax. That is the way that I have been reading for years. It's just something that I am unwilling to give up. I doubt physical books will become obsolete but there will most certainly be less commonplace, as newer generations grow up and those who are used to books leave this world.

I prefer books to e-book. I already spend like 5 hours on the computer and watching t.v. I don't like to strain my eyes. Besides, a lot of the books that I favor haven't been converted to e-books....yet.

I don't believe books are gonna become obsolete at least not for a long time. I am one who prefers books. There is something relaxing, and sometimes almost therapeutic about a book. Something that an ebook can't provide. High technology and state-of-the-art innovation don't always make life better. Sometimes the simplest of life's pleasures can only be gotten from the most primitive of resources. Hopefully, ebooks will never become as popular or as books.

I prefer real books that I can hold in my hand. E-books usually are on pdf files, and those load really slow. I'm a fast reader, I don't like to take a year to read a book.

I love both ebooks and regular books. Although in the past I prefer the conventional book, no matter how thick and heavy it is. But being a mother, I hardly have time read and I prefer ebook for now because I can access it while I'm at work.

I still prefer a book. I like literally opening a book to read rather than flipping it with a touch out my finger. It just doesn't feel right, and I would give up reading if it was only e-books.

I prefer e-books, because I can handle more book at same time, and I read what I need anytime, if I've to carry all the books that I've to read, I will need more than one backpack...

As I just read books rarely so e-books best suites me. It saves space and time. But for the regular readers the normal book will be a better option as they would not be reading the book on a screen. As reading on a screen is far less efficient and slow. And there are some people who just like to read paper books and don't think about the e-books.

Definitely regular books, hands down! :) My eyes already hurt too much from staring at the computer screen all day. I would rather read a textbook than an e-book, and that was previously the worst case scenario :D Great topic!

I definitely prefer books. There is just something about them that I prefer over an ebook. I'm also a library lover - so that is another reason that ebooks do not appeal to me. There is just something about that smell and feel of having a book that I would miss if all there was available were ebooks!

Regular books. When I want some time away from the computer that is what I do is go pick up a good book to read. I love to sit outside to read and with my computer it is less convinient for me to do so. I also like reading in the car on road trips and well it is hard to keep a computer plugged in in the car. Regular books do have the advatages over ebooks for those reasons in my opinion.

This is contradictory for me. I prefer normal books but I spend a lot of time at the computer so I actually read a lot of ebooks since I have gotten used to reading them on screen. Well, the local library is still croweded with people and we have several programmes encouraging people to read so there is still a huge demand for books.

Each one has its pros and cons. But its about time to use E-books. We're in the 21st century. Innovation is at its peak. Let's use the technology to our advantage.
