What is bartering? Have you ever bartered service or goods for other goods?

Yes I have bartered when I have travelled to Bali.I took over lipsticks jeans and thongs ,all the things the Balinese love to barter with especially with things they could not get in their own country. So basically bartering could be swapping items or services.its fun and both parties get what they want

I think that's how things use to be before currency?
I watch Little House on the Prairied sometimes..
it shows, sometimes, people paying the doctor with
chickens or jellies.

I remember my college my professor always mention this word. Before our forefathers used this because they don't used money yet to acquire a certain things or goods. Barter is the way of exchange either goods or services. Nowadays, some country still used this way of acquiring things in exchange of their own. Farmers barter their root crops or farm products to fishermen in exchange of some fish.

I am actually blogging for a company that offers bartering .. They allow
companies to barter their services and goods and exchange them for
products and services other businesses have..I think it's a splendid idea.
Saves your credit.

Bartering is the act of giving something that's not cash for something else that's not cash? :D I would love to barter because I'm seriously out of cash right now. ^_^ But I don't have any skills or possessions that would help anyone unfortunately!

There was one time when my husband did some work on a local man's motorcycle in exchange for some frozen snook. Snook is a very tasty fish that is only in season for a short time and this was about six months after the season ended.

Is snook an expensive item to buy?
Sounds like it might be; if your husband was willing
to repair a motorcycle for some.
How much snoook did he get for his service?

Bartering is exchanging the goods you have with the goods another person has.It was in demand prior to the advent of gold or money. As a student i would rarely exchange a cassette i didn't like with another of my friends. This is the closest i came to bartering.

I think that would be a great exchange.
Offering my services in exchange for something I need.
I don't need services but have some items I need.

I haven't, but I do plan on trying. Did you know you can even barter on things such as telephone bills, TV bills, and certain services like that?

I've never done it.
I'm aware that some people are very good at reducing prices but I have never actually tried, awhile back their was a celebrity going around on a television show getting knocked down prices for people who appeared on the show. I thought this was pretty cool but I know that the cost was only reduced by so much due to the celebrity and if it was me doing it they would no doubt laugh at me.

What are some examples of bartering.. Meaning..someone helps a company
