http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20007643-503544.html Congressman Steve King, an Iowa Republican, today requested that President Obama's aunt, Zeituni Onyango, testify before the House Subcommittee on Immigration, Citizenship, Refugees, Border Security and International Law in order to address "the public perception that favoritism played a role in the grant of asylum to Ms. Onyango." Later in the article, it explains why this instance of application for asylum wouldnt be confidential as her attorney has made this a public issue. What do you think? Do you think this should be investigated or do you think this is just a ploy to make Obama look bad? What do you think an investigation might find?

Well lets be honest. With the publicity around her BEFORE her case was heard in court..everyone knew who she was and who she was related to. I am not saying Obama helped her to stay. From all appearances he did not. But the judge still knew she was the president of the United States aunt. Which made it highly unlikey that he would kick her out. Before anyone knew who Obama was the courts were telling her she had to leave the country...now that he is President the courts are saying she can stay. Obama had an influence over the outcome even if he did not personally do Anything to try to help her to stay...just by the fact of who he was and that she was related to him.

I agree, more indirectly affected the outcome.

Let's see. The press busted her and everyone in the country knew who she was long before she had her hearing...including the judge who heard the case. Was he more likely to grant her request because of who she is and the press interest? Probably. The press stayed on this story like ticks on a wild dog but Margaret Wong courted the press? I don't agree with that and don't believe that that's a valid reason for Obama's aunt to lose any privacy rights in relation to the proceedings or for her to testify in Washington? She didn't make herself a "public figure", the press did so I think they should testify and folks should leave that old lady alone.

This from the article is what I am going on - "While I understand that asylum proceedings are generally confidential, Margaret Wong, Ms. Onyango's attorney, has clearly courted press attention regarding this matter," he continues. "In fact, I assume that the press learned that Ms. Onyango received asylum because of comments to the media made by Ms. Wong. Therefore, Ms. Onyango has made herself a public figure and should have no hesitation about appearing before the Subcommittee.

So, her lawyer was responsible for all the articles and pictures in newspapers and on the web after she was discovered living in that housing complex? I guess it's a matter of opinion but I knew who she was before her lawyer said a word to the press.

They salute because he is the Commander in Chief but that is up for debate.... Some service people are getting court marshaled.

spall - that is not what I said. I said him being commander in chief is up for debate as that is what is happening now. The insubordination is what it is unless it is proven that Obama is NOT legally pres. And by the way, I do believe that yes Max served as he has talked with me and you about his veteran advocate.

I'm curious, Max, did you serve any time in the military or were you able to avoid the draft? It's not up for debate, laglen. Whoever holds the office of President is the Commander in Chief and any military personnel who refuse to follow protocol when it comes to officers...any officers...should face the consequences of their actions. Our military rules and regulations are not up for *debate*...you don't get to decide for yourself what rules and regs to follow.

Yes, I believe King should procede to have O's aunt testify. Not only has she been shown favoritism because of who she is, but, we know the usurper favors illegal immigrants because he, himself, is one (Quarles Harris, Jr. murder 4/08 to prevent discovery). There are no ploys necessary to make Obama look bad. Obama IS bad. In fact, he is downright evil. I do not know what this investigation might turn up, but I hope and pray she reveals information that shows him to be the liar and illegal alien he is, or at least confirms his birth in Kenya to show the same.

Well, that's family. "Favoritism" happens everywhere, even among non-relatives. I can understand Obama if he did extend some help to her. I would have done the same thing to a friend or a relative.

I would like to see an investigation and I would like to see her testify. Because then I think we would find out that "favortism" was indeed the case. Maybe she could borrow one of her nephew's teleprompters during the testimony...

OF COURSE She should NOT testify. Obama is a Democrat and the same laws don't even apply. Why would you even bring this up laglen? You must be a racist.

Meh. I don't care about Obama's aunt. Was there favoritism? Probably. Is the President corrupt? Definitely. But I think this is the wrong way to go about proving it. I think it's a ploy.
