The Ugliest House You've Ever Visited

To be fair, I live in L.A. county where the cost of living is pretty steep and many I've known over the years keep modest living conditions. Everybody knows at least one middle class slob, maybe a hoarder (my aunt has been hoarding for nearly 20 yrs)and the house may not be in that great of a neighborhood but it gorgeous. Yesterday, I went to visit someone I hadn't seen in several years. They never worked a real job and lived in a garage/art studio. I guess its an age thing because when I first started seeing them, I thought 'Wow, this is so cool - a converted garage!' Fast forward 15 yrs. later, I've got my own place with a small yard and though punching a clock has its obvious ups and downs, I always take my "grown up pill" to keep a roof. This person has always turned their nose up at this concept. I see it this way, if a career hasn't happened in 15 years, it never will and I saw that yesterday. It was bad enough they used their kitchen as a work space but there were clothes, bottles, dirt, knicknacks all over the place. Had I stayed any longer, I'm sure a roach and/or rat would have greeted me. Fred Sanford and Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt's character in Fight Club)had cleaner places. I was never so happy to get back to old paint, chipped counter tiles and crabgrass in my life!

I have not visited the house yet, but there are 2 big houses they just built here in Apex that are pink, and not just a dull pink they are almost a hot pink color. I can not imagine wanting to live in one of them.

Reminds me of when Anna Nicole Smith was alive and once made a big deal about wanting to live in Marilyn Monroe's pink house (or maybe it was Jayne Mansfield). Sounds nice (pink house) but I'd imagine it could make your head hurt after a while.
