Some Pinoy male Singers being attached to "Old bands"

Philippines

Hello Lotters, I am just excluding the female singers here because they had a way on going to the top, most likely Lanie Misalucha, Charice Pempengco,Jonalyn Viray and Lea Salonga, with the others who have made their own album. I am sure that the male singers are too. but some how i noticed a trend here in the wakening of new Talent Super-stars like Arnel Pineda and Jovit Baldivino as they both sung the songs of the old bands. not to mention Jovit had sing some of the songs Arnel had sung. and now, there was this discussion of an Old Band (Queen) possible being connected to Jovit now. but here's the reality, Abias Cbn is not making the same mistake as what they did to charice, remember the champion of "Little Big Star" didn't made it internationally as charice did .and now, they will make sure that the best wins and no longer because of the looks. here's the performance of both known singers recently. faithfully - journey Not a referral link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AB3f50hUFpM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWC9MHgpL8U

Hahaha. You're definitely right about that, I really have no idea what is it with Filipino male singers and old songs. hehehe. maybe it's really a big thing for men. Yeah, I guess ABS CBN really learned from their past mistakes, and this is really a good time to build up artists like Jovit, cause we know that Filipino talent is really being recognized more these days.

yeah, pinoys love singers who can sing high notes, I don't know why.. And you got me thinking about the siomai business. Hehehe. Maybe they got someone to look after it while Jovit was still in the competition. Hehehehe. I'm sure his sales would be much higher now because he is already well known. LOL.

Hello ingking, i think the reason why they chose jovit is not just because of the majority vote but also how they are inspired by his life, a working student who works as a siomai seller as well. wait a minute? if he's on the stardom now? who's handling the siomai business but i've heard they were better talents too than jovit but i guess the judges have trouble choosing the qualified ones only those who can raise they're voice higher.

Hi LK, Nice observation. I am even one of those asking why such happened to Charice here in the Philippines but has all the lucks and bliss in the international music industry. THanks for posting this link here. Our mylot community will have the chance to see and appreciate how great pinoys are. I am a fan of both Arnel and Jovit.

Hello Ms. francisco, yeah, i have come to notice this. it seems that there's a possible trend of what has transpired after Arnel's joining the old band journey. and now with jovit, some think that it would be better if he's attached too to another old band that created the old song. where is the originality, where they can make they're own song

Old songs are really wonderful, and if they want to belt it those songs from Queens and Journey are the perfect songs. I never watched Pilipinas Got Talent that is why I don't know about Jovit, if he is really good or not. What I believe that Filipinos are really talented when it comes to singing. I am really proud of the artist that are making names in foreign land like Lea and Charice. I hope Jovit will have a good future in ABS and ABS help him to achieve his dreams.

Jovit is a very good singer and I believe that Jovit may reach stars one day. He has a golden voice and he is also a humble singer. God bless you so much Jovit. Give God all the glory and honor and thank HIM always

Hello grecy, you could have check the link to see how good they are at least i have noticed these few people rising to the occasion and now some of them are all over united states.Jovit has a good future alright but i have heard there were better singers than jovi, the only observation i see in the judges, they do select singers who can sing it out loud...

i don't think they are attaching the singer, it so happened that Arnel already did it for the Journey and i, for the matter of discussing the singer you have mentioned (as discussed by yours, truly) only saw the possibility of Jovit singing with the Queen.

Hello neildc, it will be good if jovit joins the queen band because they will shine again with a new singer. why not? am only just curious of the incoming trend, something that never happened before.

and that is the reason why they take FAME FLORES away from the competition because they think that FAME would be a big rival.... hahaist..... shame on the judges... because they think FAME would not make CLASSICAL SONGS to sales... ...shame, they are always after MONEY, MONEY, MONEY, MONEY, textvotes....... what the heccck those electrician and hmmm others in the finals when there was more talented FAME FLORES, the experienced child, and i guess a lot more better than those some in the finals....

Hello mark, isn't that another mistake again from the Judges but i think you're right no wonder they took her out of the competition. they want "ENGLISH" yet again best advice have her put in youtube and let the likes of Ellen degeneres and Oprah sees herthat will do.unless it's Thalia who might noticed her

well, we will just hope she will be discovered worldwide... knowing she is a lot better that susan boyle... her caliber is of sarah brightman although sarah is much better but FAME is almost there..... anyway, that is not electrician, that is electric guitarist..

hi guys, I am one of those who felt bad when Fame Flores was not chosen for chosing unpopular songs. I admire her for speaking up about "being proud to be a filipina who can sing songs in different languages"...she's smart and assertive. For that, she's a winner for me.

I think, it is just normal to be attached with some old bands because old bands were also good singers. Singer today can learn from the past singers

hello rimjay, for me, i think new singers being attached to old bands is some thing new and something that's not really done before in the history of Philippine music. i hope there's an interview on how the old timers teaching the new ones in the band

what can i say, old songs are the most unique and the best originals of all time. the rest now are re-shaping the old music with a new singer, which is really not that good perse. but you're observation is nice, i didn't see that until i get to see this discussion. but if that is the trend, why not at least the pinoy singers future is secured to the old band.

hello mika, i guess old songs are the birth of innovation in music, of course these are also classic rock so there's no way it can be that old since most alternative rock was literally based on this one.
