Today I saw a documentary about her and found out many shocking things that...well...shocked me. Did you know that she got divorced because FOX company didn't want starlets to be married? Did you know that she admitted she had 14 abortions? I always thought she was positive but she tried to commit suicide, she took pills to go to sleep and pills to wake her up...and she got addicted to them. Pills killed her at the age of thirty-six. Many things have changed till these day but famous people are under a lot of stress. Media is an accelerator to depression. So fame and money can be devastating for many people. Do you think you could cope with everything? Personally i'd rather be reach and unknown if possible.

I've been reading a biography on her. She had a very troubled childhood due to having no father and a mother that never really loved her. It said her grandmother even tried to kill her when she was an infant. Women had fewer rights and her life was very much controlled by the men she dated an thee company she kept. She always did appear happy and free but I think it was an act. She was trying hard to hide the turmoil. I think even her sadness was beautiful. But it's so sad and tragic the way her life was. I used to want to be famous as a child. But growing up and seeing what it does people... I don't think I could handle it. Being bipolar and having faced depression, I just think fame would make my condition worse...

Yes...she was a great actor even in real life. Didn't know about her grandmother The depression runs in her family and fame made it worse. I also wanted fame when younger and a part of me still wants it but when i see how it is i don't wish it anymore. I read the symptoms of bipolar disorder and i can easily see myself. I was always a pesimist but when i started with university i had severe digestion problems and doctors didn't find anything(they didn't really put much effort in it) than i started going to shrink because i read digestion can be linked with nerves and how mind works. Didn't really help me but eventually after reducing stress i'm better but still not like i was before. So you want to be friends? Thanks for your comment, much appreciated

Yes i was surprised too. It's one of many sad stories tho there's also a lot of good in it. She was a great actress after all.

Back in those days the studios pretty much controlled every aspect of the actors and actress lives. They told the actress and actors who to date and also who to marry.

Sure was a lot different but studios still control a lot don't you think? I'd have to ask a star but he wouldn't tell because the studio told him not to Thanks for comment!

to be famous and become a public figure indeed need mental readiness and preparedness of everything. In my opinion, marilyn monroe are examples of artists who are not prepared mentally to be famous

Maybe they thought they were but it can be worse than we can imagine. Even the average joe has a lot of stress and life isn't easy for him. Maybe one just isn't meant to be famous and influenced by so many people...seems unreal. Thanks for your view on topic
