Crazy for Elvis?!

Do you have a favorite idol, or movie figure that you collect things about? Mine would be Elvis. I loved him since i was little, even remember the day he died. I was sad. My dad and i would watch his movies and such. Not that i am one of those crazy fans, but from time to time i find unique things that i buy that is Elvis. I also like star wars figures and Lord of the ring Items.I guess these things remind me of a nice time in my life. What about you?

I loved Elvis! He had a magnificent voice and knew how to use it. That never goes out of style and no one has been able to copy it perfectly...just like Dean Martin's voice, though many have tried. I got to see Elvis in person when he made his come-back in Vegas back in the late 60's. Will never forget that show. He definitely knew how to work an audience.
Yes I am dating myself, but I don't care.

Huh? Is he caught in his own era? My mom too had her favorites but she has moved on and have new favorites from the new breed of singers. Elvis was big during his time but one cannot continue to adore him as times have changed and his style no longer works today.

I don't have a favourite idol as such but something that I loved for my whole life is Charlie & The Chocolate Factory. I love everything about the film and I know every single word that has been on the film as well as all of the songs and all of the music that goes along with it.
I have signed photographs from the actors in the film and it's fair to say that this is the one thing that everyone in my life knows that I really love!

Awesome. Did you see the Johnny Depp version? I did not like at as much. I thought tim Burton would do something really scary in the tunnel but nothing. Truthfully that part scared me in the original version, but i loved it. ever heard of Vueruca Salt? the band named after charlie and chocolate factory! :)

Hi loniu: I agree with you, last movie was not as good as the original. I think that the actors couldn't express the emotions that the original movie made us and that's sad. I think this happend many times when Hollywood make a remake. It's difficult to captivate the original feeling and the magnificent work of the original actors. Thanks for your answer. Hi loniu: In my case, I consider myself a huge fan of Starsailor, an Uk indie rock band. That's the reason why I call myself Starsailover. I have all of their albums, their cds, I have clothes of them, I have a signed poster, postcards, DVDs and I'm looking for a number of the NME Magazine where they appear, I think I'll buy it on ebay. For me Starsailor is my favorite band on earth and I'm the biggest fan in my country of them, I think. Thanks for your answer. Have a nice day.

Hello!psst i was a huge fan of the cure in my younger days. I mean huge, painted jean jacket, have all their albums, cds. Even have a rare promo album i bought in philly at a record shop on South Street. Altho i have calmed down a little i won't ever get rid of my stuff!:)Maybe i will pass it along to my sons hahaha?
