What happens if someone voices an objection at a wedding?

When the officiant says the whole "Speak now or forever hold your peace" thing, what happens if someone actually does give an objection to the marriage? I've been to a lot of weddings, and I've never seen this happen. I've never even heard of if happening. Does anyone know what would happen if this were to occur? Do you have any stories about a time when this actually happened?

Well, I suppose it would depend on the source and content of the objection as to whether it'd be humiliating or not.

I've only seen it happen in movies. I would imagine that it would put a huge damper on the wedding and cause a lot of animosity at the very least! At the worst it could ruin a wedding and end a marriage before it even starts. Either way I think it would be a pretty horrible thing to happen.

It would be quite horrible if it ended up interrupting a marriage between two people who really ought to be together. On the other hand, if the objection is valid then maybe it'd be a good thing that someone spoke up.
