I am beginning to love black olives

I used to think that black olives taste like rubber. One day I ordered greek salad and saw that there are plenty of olives in my salad. I tasted one, and realized that it does not taste rubber at all. It is rubbery in texture but definitely does not taste rubber.
Its kinda salty but not too salty. I got addicted to it and bought a small of bottle of black olives and just eat it as is. But aside from salad and pasta and pizza, what kind of dish can we still make using this ingredient?
I want the dish where in the star would be the olives itself and not used as for garnish only. Any body who can share a dish that uses black olives as the main ingredients? Another question, does the black ones taste the same as the green ones?

I think because of their size that they will not be the main ingredient and you would need a lot of them. Other than the things you mentioned I don't really know of other ways to use black olives in cooking. My kids really enjoy eating them off their finger tips.
The green ones do not taste the same as they have a lil piece of red pepper stuffed in them as well as a whole different process for jarring & flavoring them.

I love olives now and can sit and at them like sweets.
But it wasn't always the case, the first time i tried them I was 15 and on my first air journey to Paris, it was an Air France plain and the food was French.
Now this was in the 60's and in Britain we hadn't started to eat as many things as we do now, when I was given my salad it had what I thought were black and green grapes on, when I bit into them and got that salty taste I gagged, I thought they were horrid.
I didn't eat them for many years, I was well in my 20's when I started to eat them - I love them now!!
