A Christian and Fear

I was listening to my radio in our car. I hear Chuck Swindolls wife give a fascinating metaphor. She asked how many Christians had fear at this time. She then related fear and the light of Christ. If we have our eyes and brain and spirit on Christ, then His light will light the fear (a dark emotion). Guess what, it works. I was afraid of a surgery that I was scheduled for. I had taken my eyes off of Christ. I asked someone to pray with me and my fear went away. My eyes were back where they belonged. Has anyone else had this kind of experience and can you share?

Hi, TexLadyPj. That is how I am too. When I am scared of being alone in the dark, I will pray and ask God to send his protective angels to watch over me while I am scared. I tell him to keep the devil away so that I will be in peace. And God does do this for me. It is a pleasant feeling.

Yes and NO. We all have different ways to wade out our fear. Praying god would my last option, doenst mean that I'm god fearing man though. I will first try to think good thinks, if this did work then I call my friends and tall or hear some good music and try sleeping. If nothing works then I will lie down and relax and pray god and sleep.

Herro shyamsaimk Me again. My first thought is prayer, He is far more powerful than my friends, any music on earth. He puts good thoughts in my mind. Sorry very short and concise and is my belief system.

It is good to have some one pray for us. But I remember one instance in my childhood. I fell down and I had bad cut on my head, doctor said she had to stich it. I was alrady in pain and the thought of needling over the wound was unberable. But luckly I thought positively, if I didnt stich the wound it will get worse, so backed with the positive thought I closed my eyes and prayed. When I felt the needle touch the wound I would divert by mind toward my prayer. ha.....that was some day for me, still now it gives me strength when ever I think of that day.

As long as we have Christ in our life, we really shouldn't fear, as he is always with us, and will never leave us forsake us. It is really easy to have fear because of the times we are in, but that is where we need to keep Christ in our hearts at all time, and we should constantly pray and he will lead us. I have been in uncertain times myself, so I know how it is to not know what will hapen from one day to the next. I read my bible everyday, and it has brought me closer to the Lord, and sure I fear for the future, but as long as I keep praying and keep Jesus with me at all times, then I know the fear will evaporate. Take care, and God bless.

Herro rosekiss God blesses me every day with my life. He performed a miracle 6yrs ago with a very large cancer tumor, I had ovarian cancer. The tumor had tendrils. When I asked my pastor to pray...about 30min later I felt the tumor move. When my surgeon removed the tumor, there were NO tendrils. He was able to remove the entire tumor and there was no spreading of he cancer. God has kept me cancer free since. Prosperous mylotting

hello there. i had that experience last december. i had a ruptured fallopian tube and i didn't have a clue that i was pregnant and ectopic pregnancy was such a foreign subject to me. anyway, i almost believed God was taking me home. I was afraid I was going to miss being with my daughter as she grows up but I was confident I was going to be with the Lord. but the operation was successful and so i think God wants me to have more meaningful days on earth still
