I lived in California until I was 41 and now I'm 43 and in South carolina. I've been in some earth quakes big and small. I must say I prefer them over the storms they have here in the south...I hate storms...what about you.

Ooooh, tornados are the best. Granted, I grew up in North Texas, about a hundred miles south of the busiest area of Tornado Alley, but a good strong thunderstorm with funnel clouds forming still gets my heart going. When I was a kid, during tornado season, my brother and I would have one bag packed that contained all of our favorite toys, in case a tornado came. During the worst part of the storm (normally when the power went out) we'd all sit out in the hallway with a great big king-sized mattress leaning over us on the wall, drinking bottled water and eating ice cream straight from the carton, listening to the radio. I wanted to be a storm chaser when I was a kid, but then I realized that they don't make much money. :( Hehe, sorry for the long-winded response. I just love storms so much!

Thankfully I have never experienced either, living in the UK we are very fortunate not to have either earthquakes or tornados, we have had hurricanes which have been pretty fierce and can be frightening, but I'd say earthquakes are worst. I would hate to live in a country which were liable to having earthquakes. I saw the film and it used to scare me as a child I used to keep asking my father it won't happen here will it dad! LOL!

I was born and raised in cali and have felt a lot of them. I do recall only a few tornado watches and have even seen one there but was far away. But now I am in the South and we have warnings and watches all the time. I'd rather have my earthquakes...lol but am okay when hubby is home and the storms hit.

I love storms. At least a tornado you can get away from but not a severe earthquake.

Well I admit I have never been in an earthquake but I have been in many tornados and hurricanes. Don't like them at all. Tornados like earthquakes have no warning what so ever and I have seen them do a lot of damage. At least with a hurricane you have some warning and can get prepared, the problem comes in they often spawn tornados. With hurricanes you have to batten everything down, they recommend closing all windows, etc. With tornados you should have some air flow to help reduce the pressure from the winds. So what you do for a hurricane makes tornado damage worse. I'd rather not have to deal with a tornado at all if possible. They do some massive damage and there really isn't much you can do to be prepared for them. All you can do is hope and pray.

I lived in California a little more than a year and a half. I've lived in Oklahoma most of my life. I also live in what the media calls 'Tornado Alley.' I would much rather have an earthquake. Tornados have so much power and so much force, that unless you live where they occur, you can't fathom it all. When it comes to F-5 tornados, unless you have an underground shelter, most the time, you don't live to tell about it.

I am in the midwest and so far have not been in a tornado. We had a very small tremor here years ago the rattled the house and knocked things off of some shelves. I hate the spring because of the tornadoes. We get alot of sirens here but so far they have missed us. Sometimes they hit only five miles away though. So, shooie, I have lived here all my life and I still hate the spring severe storms!!

Can't say i really care for either, but if i had to choose i would have to say tornado. The storms that come with them are great. When i was little, we would sit out on the front porch during the bad storms just to watch the lightning strike. I loved it. There was one time that there was a tornado less than a mile away from us on the lake. Good times, lol.

ick you can have them all. I think that is why I am afraid of them because when we were young there was this bad storm and the family went out to watch and made me go outside to watch to and I didn't want to ... so you can have them all
