Which are the teams which are not performing as well as usual in the World Cup?

From the 3 teams that you mentioned who aren't performing as expected in the World Cup, I am most disappointed with Spain who I highly favor to win. They need to win their last two games vs. Honduras and Chile to be able to advance. That is not an easy thing to do at all. The pressures on them. Portugal has shown a xoxo performance. Not quite their best. And so as the 2006 champion Italy. Disappointing performance. I highly predict that either of these teams will win 2010 Fifa World Cup... Argentina, Brazil and Italy.

spain is the most under performing team in this worldcup. italy has alsodissapointed me.

Italy, Spain, Portugal, England all have been below par in their opening matches. Of these 3 have emerged with a point, and Spain with none. I think teams are still struggling to come to pace with the Jabulani ball. From the second round though I would expect better performances from the bigger teams. Though I doubt the future of Portugal in this tournament. I think once the second round matches end, we will have real clear picture of the situation. And unfortunately, I do not agree that we will have a new surprise winner. I still feel that one of the ex-champions will again win the World Cup. Cheers! Ram

Hi friend yeah I agree with you that there are teams who are not able to do justice to their potential.Still we must not forget that this is only the first match played by most of the teams and there is still a long way to go.Generally the first match of any tournament is difficult for any team and all these teams are no exception.Still it will be nice if we can have a new winner..however the chances are bleak.Teams like those from Asia and Africa are not capable to win a World Cup and also teams from the Europe and South America who are relatively new can't go all the way.So the fact is that there will be a winner from the heavyweight nations like Germany,Brazil,Argentina,Spain.Among all these nations only Spain hasn't won the World Cup and so it will be nice to see them lift the trophy.However after losing to Switzerland they need to win all their remaining group games and make it to the next round.I am an English fan and therefore I want England to win.However I think that the kind of form that they showed in the last match against USA is pathetic and they need to lift their game by quite a few notches if they want to lift the cup for the second time.
