What is the best gameplan to lose weight in 12 weeks?

I joined a contest at work (think 'Biggest Loser') about weight loss, increased physical activity, and better eating habits. It's a point system based on all three activities. I'm short (under 5'8"), lazy, and heavy (260 lbs). I'm not a big exercise person but I feel this contest will get my competitive juices going. I need help in developing a gameplan.

Thanks for the advice. I was told that it was safe to chase a 2 lb per week target. I have peers that are talking about crash dieting to drop 40 lbs in 12 weeks. Is that realistic or just plain nuts? I wonder if that effort can be sustained or is it all trash talking. My goal is to change some of my bad eating habits.

According to Joe Vitale, use the LOA, accompanied by exercising regularly, eating a sufficient and regular sleep.

Help me out. What is LOA? Do you have a recommend exercise routine or time length?

You should be able to lose about 20-30 pounds in 12 weeks. Doctors advise to only lose about 2 pounds per week to play it safe.
