"I got brain freeze by pouring cold water on my head!"

It was the last day of school yesterday. We were outside on the playground. One kid came up to me and told me me that he got brain freeze. I asked him how he got brain freeze. He told me that he got brain freeze by pouring cold water on his head. I tried not to laugh because you don't get brain freeze from pouring cold things on your head. You get brain freeze from drinking or eating cold things too fast. What was the funniest thing you've heard a child say?

haha...i had a slurpee a couple of days ago. finished it in like 5 minutes and got a total brain freeze i think it's still frozen anyway...there was a little joke session at this home that i volunteer at. the kids in that group were about 5-8 years old. so as they were each telling their own jokes, one of them said 'when i grow up, i want to be a school teacher'. i asked why, and he said 'so i can scold my friend for copying my work'.. that was the most direct and funniest thing i heard then

I hope your brain isn't frozen, Mario! Sure seems to be working fine! Ha. Little kids with simple minds. It's so cute. Sometimes, it makes me want to be a child again. Things were so easy back then.

Actually, if you think about it, if you are very hot and pour cold water on your head, you may get the same feeling you do when eating cold things..I don't know for sure and not about to test it out.. Anyways, the funniest thing I've heard a kid say is the most recent and one I am telling my friend about now. It is when my great-niece shared this heavy metal video with me and the singer is pretty hyper..(I believe I started on post on this) My 8 y/o son watched the video and I asked him, "Who does this remind you of?" (talking about the singer) He looks at me with a blank and very serious face and answered, "But you don't sing."

Well, the water wasn't that cold. It was barely room temperature. We brought it outside for them to drink, not to pour on their heads. Yikes. That's awkward. I would just be like 'Oh. How do you know I can't sing? Maybe I have a secret identity."

He knows I can't sing because he's heard me...

Aw, darn. Too bad trickery couldn't work on him! Maybe you could have said 'That's my false voice. I'm actually quite a good singer! You haven't heard me in the shower!" LOL

I don't usually drink vodka but this is a big bowl of iced green or blue jelly mixed with vodka that you share with friends, you all have a straw andafter, 1, 2, 3 you suck as much up as you can - definite brain freeze that one

Oooh. That sounds yummy. I don't think I'd race to drink it though. I'd want to savor it. IT sounds tasty. LOL

Vodka jelly? What is that? It sounds...interesting. From the name 'brain freeze,' you wouldn't guess you'd get it from drinking cold things. LOL

StephanieAnnC I am going back to the day I heard my youngest one say no no wobbie don't do dat" and I am rushing in to see what mischief my two are up to. My son Robbie had just cut the fringe off one edge of my brand new towel. I said," why did you do that?" He looked up witha scowl on his little face,"Mom it was unraveling on you" lol where did he get those words he was only two? Also a pair of scissors was tangled in my daughter's hair. She had not had the hair cut he had intended yet because he could not get the scissors out of her long hair. I asked him why he had tried to cut her hair. Again he threw me for a loop."mom her hair is longer on one side than the other." I looked and sure enough her hair was several inches longer on one side than the other. So I managed to gently trim the one side so it was even with the other.

hi oh she was a little wiggleworm and the hair stylist goofed for sure. I did the best I could, all the time she was saying, no mommy, lisa don wan hair cut. lol. She was the prettiest , sweetest most loving child and yet she was born brain damaged from lack of oxygen at the crucial time of birth, the doctor admitted after the fact that she would have been normal had he done a caesarian to get her delivered while she was still breathing. But we loved her with all our hearts and had her for eight short years, til her death from pneumonia.

Kids say the funniest things. All you can do is laugh. How int he world was her hair longer on one side than the other? Did the hairstylist cut it like that by mistake? That's quite odd.

Oh no. That's so sad. I felt bad for the hairstylist. Those chairs need straps! Just kidding. She sounds ahdraoble. Too bad her life was cut short. What a terrible doctor!

Maybe his definition of brain freeze is different from ours But that's a cute kid. You should have show him how to get a brain freeze by drinking a very cold drink.

We were on the playground. No sliushies or ice-cream available. I don't know if I would have shown him. It's not a pleasant experience.

I've seen some pretty ugly kids. Then again, I've seen some really gorgeous kids too. The kind of kids you know will turn into models when they grow up. They just have the looks for it. This one girl has these beautiful blue eyes and blond hair. She was stunning even at age six! I also saw a kid once that had eyes like the kid in The Omen. Very dark brown, almost black. Scary little boy.

Yes Stephanie, children are really funny by their expression as well as behaviour! Even, I hae seen some kid urinating at one end of the play-ground and returned with saying that he has watered that bush, which is a point for a goal post! So we must win this game! Their fun is out of their simplicity and transparency in expressions! That is why it has been said that children are true by minds! Thanks for this nice posting and let's hope more funny things from children around us as the pleasant side of life!!

Oh no! If one of our kids did that, they'd get hollered at! I wonder if he really thought he was watering the bush or just said that as an excuse. Kids are full of surprises. They never fail to make me smile or laugh.

hahahaa ..... who said to the child how old is she? I think that kids are still small and not too familiar with what he said.

It was actually a boy. I think he might be in third grade, but I'm not too sure. I feel like a third grader wouldn't say that. I'm actually not quite sure how old he is. Maybe he just looks older. I've had other funny things happen at work too. Like, another boy asked me if I had an ultra-violent light in my pocket. He wanted to show me how the rocks he got from a mining field trip glowed.
