Waking up in the middle of the night

What Do You Do When You Wake Up In The Middle Of The Night And You Can't Back To Sleep? Me? i listen to music or I play cellphone games...

certainly i would go back to sleep no matter how long it takes me. i just have to rest and i don't like to do other things that will also make me awake,i just shut my eyes closed and think of sleeping and dreaming but i hardly get back to sleep when i happen to wake up to go to restroom,even i am tired and i really wanted to sleep i can't get back to it,which makes me irritate in a way,but i still keep on getting back to sleep no matter what.

yeah,i think you are like my sister,you should get rest for you to energize and it's all we need to have as human. my sister always get home late from work then when she arrived,she always face the computer,instead of sleeping and resting yourself because of tiring work,you just sit there and let your mind and body do the thing,your body and mind also needs rest for you to function well.and my sister has this school, yes she was working student that's why she has lots of modes while awake.that's why we always tell her to get some rest because you'll not be functioning well if you have less time sleeping.

In my case, I do not wake up in the middle of the night, instead, I wake up around 3am in the morning and have hard time getting back to sleep again. I do not know it's always happening and why 3am!?. I'm still puzzled up until now and am trying to decipher its mysteries or what may be the cost. Whenever that happens what I do is that I walk around my room, sometimes I go the living room and around the dining room and basically do nothing but walk and stare at some places or corners I shouldn't be facing. Sometimes I get scared because of the chills I feel inside my body but most of the time it is conquered by my urge to know what's really happening. So I started to record or remember everything that has happened during the day and before I slept and during the times I wake-up at 3am. But until now, I still haven't found the reason yet.

@annavi23: It's really a mystery and creepy too. @mspitot: That's what I thought too. But there are times when I sleep late at night at around 11pm, I still end up waking at 3am...huhu But I'm thankful that I'm getting used to it now. After those early morning worries. What I do sometimes is go to the dining room and eat something. Ever heard of an early morning snack? Ahehe. As of now, the creepy feeling reduces and I am able to calm myself a bit and somehow manages to go back to sleep...^_^

Maybe it's just because of your body clock....when it's 3am, your body feel that you had enough sleep?

oh,what's the mystery of waking up always at 3am? hmmmm,,i wonder what's wrong.but to tell you i'm kinda creepy with your story since you also said you are feeling kinda creepy while walking around the house. i guess you just try to relax and go back to sleep. and don't forget to pray always at night before you go to sleep.

It doesn't happen to me because I usually go to sleep in the middle of the night and I'm so tired I won't be waking soon. But I love it when it happens cause I just wait to fall asleep again and fall right into the lucid dream. Haven't had lucid dreams in quite awhile.

if i wake up in mid night and not able to sleep what i'll do!!! surely i'll start reading.. reading makes me sleepy always.. i usually do this,very rarely i'll start listening to music in my ipod.

I try to imagine things and make stories on my mind. I guess it could sometimes make me use some positive imagery there. But when I really could not sleep I tend to pray cause it always makes me sleepy. :D

First I'll try to sleep again. If I haven't sleep after 30 minutes then I just watch something from my PC. But I make sure I only watch anime so I'll have to read the subtitle. And reading plus watching really make me sleepy.

There were instances that,we can't avoid waking up in the middle of the night. And sometimes,it is hard to sleep again,thu how much we wanted to get back and sleep. The best thing i can do is watch old movies,or movies that i haven't watch. I had this habit of buying cd movies and just keep it on cd rack for collection. Or,listening to music helps me to feel sleepy again. I really hate it when suddenly i'll be awaken in the middle of my deep sleep. Have a good weekend

It happens to every one and to me also. I read books, magazine, and bible too until my eyes are ready to close back to sleep. Or I used to open my computer searching for any news, games,or whatever interesting to me.

reading is good you can gain knowledge and at the same time it will also make you sleepy when your eyes tire.
