In Recent years, Mobile phones has become a basic necessity of our life. There are many advantages and disadvantages of mobile phones.Even in recent days The effect of mobile phones radiation on human health has become a bigger issue. After knowing all these things, do you think use of mobile phones should be allowed in schools? As per my opinion people can use mobile phones in schools and colleges but It should have limitation on use.Students should be allowed to use mobile phones in schools to trace them by their parents. what do you think?

Hi Crazy_Poster! At my son's school he could have his cell phone with him but it had to be turned off during school hours. Since he participated in sports after school I wanted him to be able to reach me if he needed to which is why I allowed him to take it to school. The penalty for having your cell phone turned on during school hours is that it's taken away from you and a parent has to come to the school with the student before it's returned.

well, in that case, if the teacher makes sure they turn it off, I think it's fine. But if they have their cellphones turned on during lessons they won't learn anything at all

I'm also worried how bad the mobiles are for our help but let's face it we can't live without them and they are indeed very useful. If nothing else to call for help. So yeah we should be able to use them everywhere i'm just concerned because we keep it near our bodies all the time and no one ever said they are 100% secure. Your name suits you well by the way Good luck!

Hi, my 16-year grand daughter's school does not allow children to bring their mobile phones. First, I was annoyed and said why they should disallow them to carry mobile. After all, it helps parents to remain in touch with their children. Then one day I saw her talking to her friend on mobile for quite a long time. At another time, I saw her walking nonchalantly on the road with phone glued to her ears; and she was quite oblivious to what was happening around. I felt it could be dangerous. Some running vehicle can knock her down or anything can happen. This had set me worried. I came to conclusion that we must not allow children to use mobile phones. Now that the telephone booths are available at every nook and corner they can always call up home if it is necessary. Fifteen years ago, how did parents managed with their children when there were no mobile phones. If parents are too eager to know where their children are, they can give them pagers. I do not think the schools would object to it.

Well I would like to oppose this facility ..to bring mobile to schools as school is the place to study not to showoff or to just do chit chat...how it looks when teacher is asking something and student is giving the answer and suddenly the mobile rings with great movie songs ...Dont you think is embarrassing for both. So it should not be allowed in school.

In my school and college, they allowed cell phones for a year, as long as we didnt use them during class hours, and then decided to prohibit even bringing them on campus. But the problem was that even after the "ban" was imposed on bringing phones on campus, we always managed to find a way to sneak them in. And before they expressly told us not to bring them, we never really cared that we had our phones with us, and used them mostly in between classes when the teachers weren't around. But after the rule was imposed, we seemed to make it a point to use them during class, whether we needed to or not. I guess my point is that students should be allowed to bring their phones to school or college, because of emergencies where they might need to get in touch with someone. And a lot of the time, pay phones aren't easily accessible.

As a parent, I guess one side of me thinks that cell phones should be allowed in schools, the easiest way to communicate with my child and know his whereabouts without any tension. But the other side of me, also as parent don't think its a good idea to allow so. Firstly, it would violate laws and serenity of school environment, secondly, the harmful effects of using them from childhood.

In some schools here parents are informed that such things should be the responsibility of the parents and their child/children if lost. Pupils are not allowed to use them unnecessarily. Teachers are to use discretion when confronting pupils who use their mobile phones in school.

My son takes his mobile to school but it is a necessity as we live in a very rural area and if for any reason he misses the bus he wouldn't be able to get home. However his school is very strict, they are allowed their phones but they must be switched off before they enter in the morning and have to be left off unteil they leave at night. If they don't their phones are took off them for the week

My granddaughter's school has banned cell phones at school. She is a diabetic, and at first, I thought this was a very bad thing for her not to have her cell phone with her. In a way, I still do. At school, she has access to phones, so that isn't a problem. My concern is going to and from school and any activities she may be involved in. However, I've seen these young people using their cell phones. They might as well be glued to their ears. I'ts a wonder they don't wear out their fingers texting. So, I can really understand why the schools have banned their use...I guess I just have to trust that she will get help if she needs it.

Now a days Mobile phone has become one of the most important part of communication. And it is scientifically proved now that excessive use of mobile phones are effecting our health.Experts are giving us some precaution methods or guide line how to use mobile phone. Coming to your point,i can still remember when we were in high school that was the time when mobile phone started its journey. And it was strictly disallowed at that time in classes! But now the situation has changed. You can not totally banned mobile in college or school.I think the uses of mobile in college or school should be limited. There might be a circular or guideline like ,student must not use mobile phones during classes, phones has to be in silent mode,it should be use only for the urgent purpose.

In my opinion , the telephone is not good for pupil and middle school student . Fisrt , the mobile phone radiation will affect thier's health ,especially thier's heads . Second more and more mobile phone has many games , of course most of they will play games in class. So it must affect their studyings. Thus I think the phones should be not allowed to use in the school except colleges.

in my opinion, students should be allowed to bring mobile phones in school. its helpful. for emergencies. and for faster communication. they may just surrender their mobile phone to their professor or teacher if they have exams. :)

I think that children should be allowed to bring home their phones so that their parent would know their whereabouts. But I must also state they should not brought inside the class while the class is ongoing. They could have a locker where all of the students' cellphones are locked inside to avoid disruption while they are studying.

It should be allowed in schools. But the teachers should make sure their students are not using it while they are having class. It should only be use when only needed like when there's an emergency.

I think the whole system should be changed. In todays world it's nearly impossible to live without a mobile phone. with that being said to my opinion it should be permitted in schools and colleges looking at it from a positive side, but students should never misuse the phone for other pupose for the reason you might know that resulted in this cause as you have mentioned, with proper limitations and guidence, the phones should be permitted in schools. So, its a 'YES' for me.

For me i think it should be allowed because it is very important especially when it comes to emergency because we don't know what might happen. I think it shouldn't be allowed inside the classroom when the discussion start your phone must be off or in silent mode or when someone is calling you should go outside. Well tha't only my opinion. Thank you and God bless..

My sister's in highschool and they are not allowed to bring cellphones to school but she still brings it anyway. She just places it on silent mode and makes sure that no school personnel see the phone. Lol. I think they should allow the mobile phones in school but make sure that students will not be distracted.
