Okay, no snotty remarks, no i am too good to respond to this. I need you all to explain to me, why every culture is important to you? And what the hell is the difference between me and you. And don't tell me it is the culture thing. As far as i am concerned we are all human. No matter what your freaking culture, okay. Does your culture make you a better person than what i am? TATA.

i'd like to do this metaphorically... imagine the world is one big cooking pot, making vegetable stew. the people are the vegetables...so many types and varieties, there are carrots and potatoes and peas and celery and tomatoes and turnips and cabbage and stuff, but all are essentially vegetables. and our culture is the spices that go in it. the spices that give and enhance taste & flavor for the individual types of vegetables making up the vegetable stew.. the spices don't make the dish without the vegetables. and the vegetables will taste bland & boring without the spices. and the whole thing won't cook without the big cooking pot. take out one, and the taste will differ. and that's why the stew we are in today is so tasty and spicy.. and we need to take care of our world too..if there is no pot to cook in, there will be no vegetable stew, and all the vegetables won't be able to do any good to anything.

We are all human but there is a lot of difference when it comes to how we live our lives Muslims are really religious and you would never find typical muslims girls wearing a bikini in public----like women from western countries do And they are against pre-marital $ex as well which makes them a better humans in my opinion Bad ones are an exception though

If one studies Anthropology, it is possible to discover many different kinds of cultures. Some definitely are inferior to most others. Most are fairly equal. An example of an inferior culture? How about a culture that practices infanticide of females? There are such cultures. If one goes to the level of sub-cultures, you will find even more abhorent practices that are approved within that sub-culture. So, yes, there are some cultures inferior to others, but no one culture superior to all others.

Sorry, I think that is so wrong, for instance the culture of Nazi Germany produced the people that committed such atrocities and is inferior to say that culture of modern Germany. Whilst there were undoubtedly good people produced in that culture the point is that so many bad people were produced that it is fair to say that the culture as a whole is inferior all the best urban

As a Zen practitioner, my aim to to realize that all is one, that separation and division is an illuion created in the mind. The aim of Zen practice is to transcend the mind, transcend judgement and comparison. As far as I know, it is what every great teacher, from every religion has taught. Yet it is not an easy thing to accomplish with the way the peoples of the world judge each other. I see that to live in harmony with the universe, I need to observe what the universe does. It does not judge anything. A rock in universal terms is no more important that a huge mountain. They are both made of stone. I am no better than anyone else and when I perceive another person, I take them into my awareness making them part of my experience, and as I am my experience in terms or energy, that other person becomes part of my self. If I judge or condemn any person, I am judging and condemning myself. No matter who that person is, if they are critical of me, or show signs of detesting me, to retaliate is creating conflict in self and other, that are really one. This is my Zen experience that has come from 30+ years of meditation and developing greater awareness and tolerance. As I say, it is not easy, but no great master ever said that it would be easy! _Derek

Hi Saphrina, Not sure what prompted this little rant but you are right. We are all human and no one is better than anyone else save murderers, rapists and child abusers and molesters. As for culture, we all have different belief codes. Doesn't mean one is better than the other. No one is perfect and no one should be judging others. Sadly they do. If everyone just would live their own lives and stop judging others for their lifestyles (as long as they are not harming others) then the world would be so much more peaceful place.

Actually yes, not all cultures are equal. For instance do you really believe that the culture of Nazi Germany is equal to that of modern Germany? That is not to say that the people within those cultures are worth less intrinsically only that they are disadvantaged by their culture. I don't know if my culture makes better people than yours but some cultures do produce better people. That is not to say that there is a hierarchy of cultures, even the worst culture may have some good points which better ones could be improved by learning from. all the best urban
@urbandekay (18278)
20 Jun 10
Hiccup, yes most Germans where of that culture, that is not to say that all Germans of that culture were bad, you seem to be confusing the two. The point is, that culture is inferior, not because all the people were bad but because it produces people that perpetrated such evil all the best urban

Culture is a people's way of life. Since we don't live in the same country nor have the same culture, that's what makes us different from each other. Since it is a way of life, it consists of how you were raised up and how society works around you. Like the Western countries such as the United States wherein people value freedom and independence. When a person reaches the age of 18, he/she can freely decide to be independent from his/her family whenever he wants to. And liberated as well. Comparing it here to conservative countries such as the Philippines, most parents would not allow their sons/daughters to be away from them or live on our own at the age of 18 . instead, they'll give us freedom when we're able to finish college and have work already. Culture really defines a person. but it certainly doesn't mean he/she is better than anybody else because we may have been brought up differently, but we are of the same breed. PEOPLE.

We can't deny the culture difference that exists between two nationals. We don't have to research whose culture is superior or inferior. We are living in a fast world. Let us not waste our time in criticizing others about their cultures or whatever. We can enjoy life by being happy with others. Life is give and take. man can't live alone. He depends on many people. So let us not bother about the culture changes here and feel we all are from a single family and enjoy Mylotting with all fellow members.

I believe that we are all equal. I also believe we are all equal in the sight of Jahovah. The Holy Scriptures show that and that Jahovah wants all to be as one. Not divided into all these different divisions of religions. All worshiping one God. Anyone who thinks they are better than anyone else for what ever reason is wrong.

The only real difference in you and me or any other two people is the way we think. As we grow up from children to adults the ionformation we encounter is what molds our way of thinking as an adult. This information is also what molds us into what we become as adults. If you and I had been raised in a different family in a different part of the world, or even a different part of the country we live in, we would think different and that would make us a slightly different person. The information we have encounter as we developed, and are sitll encounter today as adults completely controls every thought we think, every word we speak and every move our bodies make in any direction. If any of us are to ever change our attutide, personality, or our lives in general we must first change the information that is controlling it now. Education with true facts in the direction you wish to take your life is the true key to change. You have no more control over what you are any more than I do. Art

To some degree we are the same but in some ways we are not. As I said before the way we think makes us different. Every person on this earth is a very special creature. No two are exactly the same. This holds true no matter what country you live in. No two people look exactly the same or feel exactly the same. We all live a different quality of life and that is the most important thing to any human. We are all of the human race but different information is controlling our lives in different directions. Art

i think the culture does not do anything about what kind of person are you..although sometimes the culture is the principle that is used as a basis for judgment in one person or society..but still it depends on how you view or live with it...because at the end, its you who will decide what kind of person do you want to be and not the culture. Culture is a standard guide on how we should live as a human with good morals, values, ethics and etc but as i have said it is still you who will decide of what you want to become.........live the way you want girl but be responsible make sure your not harming anyone that is good living! have a nice day...

It is true we all are human because we all have an upright posture, a flat face, power of articulate speech and superior mental development. We use the word humankind for all because the word 'mankind' seems to slight women. What makes one human a better person than the other? It is the taste and behavior. One develops a taste and behavior because of the culture. Okay you say culture does not matter. I will tell you another reason that make one a better person than the other. No two human have the same problem solving ability. One type of human may think that there is always a better way to do things, the other might be complacent with things as they are. One human would strive to improve the quality of life the other would do nothing about it because of the sense of defeatism. All call themselves human but their base nature is animal nature. In some, the base nature remains dormant; in others it rises to the surface of their consciousness and makes, they lead a life of an animal. Some humans are less kindly, less humane, less patient and less tolerant than others humans are. It is because they are less human and more of an animal. It is the animal nature in them that makes me distinct than them.

21 Jun 10
Okay, the first part i will skip. Just to be on the safe side. I cannot think that behavior can make such difference as most people don't know what it means, let alone how to spell it. Culture may scalp a person, but it doesn't make the person. And thank you for your response. TATA.
• India
22 Jun 10
The nature makes the difference. There are men in semblance of human. They behave more as an animal and less as a human. Humanly qualities are kindness, sympathetic, patient, tolerant, loving and caring. Would you call a terrorist a human? It is the culture, environment and upbringing that makes one what he is. Most people do not get on together because of difference in their natures.
