Now EIC - the East Inda Company is owned by an Indian "Sanjiv Mehta". Sanjiv is an Mumbai born entrepreneur who brought the company from 30 or 40 people who owned it. "When I took the company, my objective was to uderstand its history. I took a sabbatical from all other business and this became the single purpose in my life" said - Mehta. As per the History the british empire controlled India and did trade dealing through the East India Company for more than 300 years. And now the Sanjiv owns the company. In those times the company had the imperial might and was responsible to bring tea, coffee and luxury goods to West and trading spices across the globe. But now - Sanjiv owns it and may be he remove its dark past! "India is the spirit of the East India Company in many ways - it evokes a huge amount of connectivity and emotions" - says Mehta.
