Longest record for me was 26 hours straight, I could not imagine doing it again though but at that time I had no choice.I had to Finish my Winter Training Project Report of my master degree. I am a student of Management and I was preparing my project report on one of the most reputed multinational company. After 26 hours of preparation my project was over and finally I submitted it to my University. My friends had to help me and tuck me in bed :)

Kudos to you for sitting 26 hours at a stretch to finish your project. It must have been a quite a task. Last time I attempted to sit at a stretch on PC and I had to be hospitalized.

I have two kids. I know that on many more than one occasion the hours have exceeded 36. After 24 it seems that everything starts to blur in together. But when you have a baby and she is vey ill and in the hospital, nurses and doctors or not, its impossible to take your eyes off of them for a moment. And every moment of not sleeping was worth it. Although I do remember that particular occasion ending in my husand finally arriving and me sleeping for 17 hours straight. Strange the things our bodies can do and go without.

I think 2 days was my maximum.I use to like evening or the night for playing games or watching movies.I don't know, feels better to watch in the night than during the day. And to go back sleeping night I sometime very rare don't sleep a day and go to sleep the second day.

Hi Crazy Poster ! My longest is 35 hours continuously followed by a 2 hour short nap while traveling in a bus and then another continuous 8 hours. It was festival time and I had to submit an article at the last day that kept me awake, then I traveled to meet my friends and stayed awake till everyone started to celebrate. That is the longest in my life. Wouldn't have been awake if it wasn't for my friend to accompany me. Too tiring..

Amazingly my hubby and I just got into a serious discussion about this very subject yesterday! I must have 8 hours sleep. Without it I cannot function well. But why is it the very people who tell us how much sleep we should be getting are the very same people who break that rule? Doctors are the worst at getting the sleep they are supposed to be getting! They begin skipping sleep while still in school. All night studying. Then surgeons are notorious for skipping sleep. Do they think they're exempt from the rule because they are helping people? What are the rest of us doing? Sheesh!

My record is near about 24 hours straight. I sleep less during my exams days. I am student of engineering at it is very not possible to revise the whole syllabus in one day therefore i had to sleep less and study more.

I have never experienced such long hours of sleepless night,at a stretch.I have not crossed beyond 20 hours at a stretch without sleep. There has never been any such occasion for me in my life,as far as I remember. On certain pressing situations, there have been some disturbances in maintaining my normal sleeping schedule. Thanks.

You have such nice friends. My longest time without sleep was 32 hours. I was preparing for a big exam and spent the whole night studying. It was so difficult to stay awake but luckily I have a coffee maker so I can just make myself a cup of coffee whenever I felt tired. Even when I finished my exam, I couldn't go to sleep because the school day was not over yet. 32 hours isn't too bad though. I had a friend who stayed awake for 3 days playing computer games.

the maximum ever was 36 hours. studied all night long for the exam which was the next morning. i even remember when I almost fainted in the bus. When I came back home, i just couldn't sleep in broad daylight. Then my fatigue went away for a short period of time by distracting myself. Once my head hitted the pillow, i think i fell alseep after 7 minutes. It still happens to me when I study last minute an it's really bad for my health. But i can't help it...i always study last minute :/

The longest I went without sleep was 72 hours. I was a volunteer for a candidate in the election. Here in the Philippines, before the automation of the election, the cheating is carried on at night and so we had to be very vigilant. Good thing I was still in my 20s then and so I was strong. My candidate won eventually.

I have gone 3-4 straight days without sleep for the spam of 4 years. This happened when I was in nursing school and if you want to be on the top of the game you have to exchange sleep for study. Usually I sleep good on friday night till saturday afternoons. Study a little bit and do some groceries on saturday afternoons and study a bit a t night. On sundays I start studying again and don't get that much sleep till thursday again. I guess the longest average sleep I get between sunday- thursday is 3 hours and the shortest is 30 mins. I don't ever wanna do this again.

You are strong. I don't think I could last that long. Thought that little stress you had to complete your project could have helped you. If I had to endure that time I would probably need as much time, if not more, to recover. Hehe...

For me it was 32 hours without sleep. Because we had an out of town family vacation that time. The travel itself was 12 hours straight. Probably because of high adrenalin and excitement I wasn't able to sleep even while travelling. I was enjoying the scenes and the places that I see while on a ride. Then when we got to the place, it was really beautiful and I really enjoyed the place and the company of my relatives that's why I cannot sleep even if I can feel that I was tired already...But it was a torture physically so I won't do it again. Next time, I'll try to calm down and relax.

I think more than two days, and just slept for 5 minutes. It was when I was in college, in fact, my last year in college. I had a report and had to do it again the next day so I wasn't able to sleep for two days.

I don't remember the exactly time, maybe over 24 hours. I am ashamed to say that no one is for the work or study, only for amusement, birthday party and the classmate celebration. with growing up, I try to sleep at night no matter how late it is. Because it is very tired and have a headache on next day. I will have no spirit for a week. So, my suggestion is no matter how hard the work is or late the party is, have a sleep at night. ALL-night work, study or enjoyment will hurt the health. Keeping remember it. Health is the most important. DO not waste your youth.

I had tried 2 days and 2 nights without sleep and that was back in my university days when we had a fun camp. We were very excited and stayed up the whole night chatting and singing. The following day we had activities and the next night we did the same thing over again. On the third day morning, camp broke up but we are not over the excitement and we decided to go for a movie. You can imagine what happened next, we all fell asleep in the cinema, being nice and cool with comfy chairs. Now I can't imagine myself doing that again unless in an emergency.
