Despicable Me!

I've seen so many commercials for this movie and most of them have me laughing, but I still don't know what the plot is. At first I thought it was all about these weird yellow creatures in blue overalls that were cute and hilarious. Now I see people- a mean man who now is in charge/responsible for children who look like they drive him crazy. I'm still confused about the plot, but it seems like a cute cartoon that I might be interested in seeing if I have nothing else to do.
What are your thoughts on the movie? Does anyone know the plot?

OMG I loved this movie.Definitely a must see.
Its about this guy named Gru who wants to be Number One villian,but that titles already taken by some kid who stole the Great Pyramid.In order to get funding from the Bank of Evil for his next project Gru has to convince the bank that he still has what it takes to be a villian.Gru comes up with a plan to steal the moon in order to ransom it back to the people of Earth.All he needs to do is steal a shrink ray and build a rocket.
Gru's plan go awry when Victor/Vector (the kid who stole the Pyramid)also has the same idea and hijacks Gru's aircraft in order to steal the Shrink Ray.
Gru plans to steal back the Shrink Ray but is beaten by Vectors new electronic gadgets.
After witnessing three little girls gaining access to Vectors house because they were selling cookies,Gru decides the quickest route to the Shrink Ray is to adopt the kids...

I have not seen this movie yet and I so want to see it. Hopefully soon I will. Thanks for description. Now the previews make so much more sense.
