I have a IBM A20m. Everything works. In fact, it's doing it right now. It's not the battery, I've removed the battery and am runing it on AC. It's a series of three beeps, pause, threen beeps pause. Can anyone tell me What's wrong?

Check out the computerhope.com website. They have a list of IBM beep codes and the probable problems. This should give you a starting point for solving your problem. Good luck.

Hey, thanks! That did it. I guess I increased the amount of the paging file too much. (I keep getting that message it's too low.) I reduced it and it stopped.

You will find the beep codes for all IBM Thinkpad here : http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-46018.html IBM says "three short beeps, pause, three more short beeps, and one short beep" -- not exactly what you describe -- is a DIMM or system board error.

Well, if it beeps this means there is an error. Check your motherboard and other peripherals. These beeps are actually signs on which error is occurring. Try checking online for the related beep meanings.
