There must be a mistake, the sun is shining, it is a beautiful day and yet that wonderful sporting event (which usually manages to bring rain!!) starts today in England. I refer of course to The Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championship, to me it just epitomises summer!! So who do you think will win this year - Federa MUST be a favourite, but what hope for the Scottish player Andy Murrey, could this year be his? I do hope so, it would be good for one British sporting personality to stand out for the right reasons!! As for the woman's tournament - will it be another Williams v Williams? What do you think? Do you enjoy watching tennis?

....Hi there oldchem, Love my tennis. In my younger years I played as much as I could. Now days I watch every tournament that I can. Federer is seeded number one with the now number one player in the world Nadal at number two in this round. I think Federer has a good chance on the grass. The clay seems to baffle him. Andy Murray has to get a bit lucky with the draw, meeting a strong player in the first or second round is a kicker for actually anyone. Andy Roddick will be or should be a force, going what fourteen matches against Roger last year before Roger won. Sodlerling may show up strong as well. As for the ladies the two finalists at the French will certainly be trying to prove that their showings there were not a fluke. While Venus and Serena will be slugging away. Hopefuly they will not be in the same draw. Makes it more interesting for them to be on opposite sides and more of a possibility that they will meet later on. Let's not forget the young, cute, tall blond girl from Russia, lives in the US mow, can't think of her name, starts with an s, she plays well on grass. Should be a fun tournament, hope the rain stays away and the strawberries are plentiful. "o) Enjoy.

I love tennis. Being an Aussie I have to go for Lleyton Hewitt, so I hope he wins. My son is now learning to play tennis with some one who is connected to Lleyton ,so we are both supporting him and also Sam Stosur. I wish I had watched Lleyton last night but I had to get up early for work and you never know how long those matches go for.

As an American, I am hoping Roddick has a good showing again and doesn't lose because of an injury like he did in the final to Federer last year. Of course this year if they both go far, they would meet before the final this year. On the women's side since my favorite women's playe, Ana Ivanovic, just can't seem to get her game back, she lost in the first round today, I'm guess I'm for Kim Clijsters. It would be nice if Melanie Oudin who won today could go far but I don't think she will make it to the semi's much less the final.

Unfortunately no. I don't like tennis much even though I like to read the news sport. I know Roger Federa, Serena Williams and Venus Williams. They are great player My attention now on FIFA World Cup 2010 which held in South Africa. Hey oldchem, England is my favorite to be the winner for World Cup beside of Brazil. But in the last two games they don't show good performance. Gerrard and friends played well when against USA but failed to win the games due to Grant blunder. The best chance was when they met Algeria. They supposed to win with big score but they failed again. Two draw yield in 2 points and they have to win the last game against Slovenia. I hope they win in other to get ticket to big sixteen round. Goo Rooney!

I have to say, I have never really gotten into the Tennis. But lets just hope that Andy Murray gets further in the competition than our football team for the country lol I am also surprised as you are with our weather, as you say Wimbledon is known for bringing the rain... but today is beautiful I have even got my legs out! So lets hope the rest of the tournament will bring good weather!

Well I did hear on Sky news that Rosie had her legs out!!!! Hope this good weather lasts as my daughter and son in law are coming for a few days, they usually manage to bring bad weather - so with their visit and Wimbledon I don't hold out much hope!!!!

I'll be looking. I think it'll be Federer and maybe Venus will get it.
